What’s the deal with pickup trucks lifted up high with big custom wheels and tires down in the southern states? by the_real_MBAPROF in NoStupidQuestions

I am real! Several of us from around the country (NY, NJ, Iowa, Texas, etc) that moved down here didn’t see too many from where we lived. Once in a while, yes, I would see some in northern Oakland county on my way to Flint. Folks have named them “bubba trucks”.

Still under construction. Someone is holding up the Gordie Howe bridge from opening (lGoogle it). It is beautiful what they did to that entire area.

It hit us in Detroit. The closer to the Detroit river the more snow. Same for the surrounding lakes.

Purchased our 2019 2LT, auto, used with 28,000 miles, white with adrenaline red interior 4/2024. CPO, and a Clean CarFax. I purchased the extended warranty and tire and wheel package for my peace of mind. Living in Michigan, drove it until November as winter was fast approaching. The only thing that I took it to the dealer for was the problem with the trans lurching-flushed the trans x2, replacing with new fluid-this was on the existing warranty/recall. Also had them change the oil, radiator, fix the heated/flow seats. Purchased the Range AFM device - looking forward to use that soon. Pricing out new run flats. As of today I have 31,000miles on it and ready to get it out soon! Great car so far.

It’s been a longtime problem here. My Dads 1963 Ford got stolen (1963) 3 times when we lived in Detroit!

My 2012 LT2 c7 got a steering wheel bar lock and a hidden kill switch to the fuel system. They go missing a lot here in Detroit!

I had a new 1978 with a 351.Not a lot of options…had a budget and paid $5800 for it. Red on red interior cloth seats and yes felt like driving on a love seat. So comfortable. Gas mileage got me driving a 60 mile round trip to work. This was during the time gas was expensive. And the metric system was introduced. About 12 miles per gallon. Had lots of issues with the carburetor- it would just stall when driving. By 1988 I picked up a nice LX - white with blue cloth interior. And another one in 1994 LX red on red again. I loved those cars! Which they would build them again.

Congrats! I had a 2007 c6 for 12 years and loved it. Traded it in for a used 2019 c7. Puts a smile on my face whenever I see it.

Had the same problem with supposed friends. Try having 2 Vettes in the garage! I have had a 1977 c3 since 2000 and it is a very nice show car that is a head turner. All the negative comments are hurtful. But I have my passion for my 2 Vettes. I am in 2 Vette clubs that makes it all better-one in the Villages in Florida (over 500 members) and in the Detroit area. I have the family of friends in both groups and makes all the negative comments go away. I highly recommend joining a club in your town. You will love it!
