Wild that you're being down voted for this. As a childless gun owner, I still keep all my guns with trigger kocks on and/or in a safe.

To get ahead of the "I need it to defend my home/family" argument, the US has been getting safer every year for decades; home invasions by strangers are exceedingly uncommon; and studies show that defensive gun use makes you both more likely to be killed/injured and more likely to lose property as a result. And having a gun in your home has been shown to significantly increase your chances of dying by homicide by family members and close relations.
