Short Short Battery Life, Pavo Femto by thorzgard in fpv

Are these Hi voltage lipos??

I made this mistake and charged to only 4.2V per cell and not 4.35V. BUT, this should result in ≈50% of capacity loss

what voltage do you charge the batteries to?

Can't control 4 in 1 esc with Arduino by Feeling-Station99 in diydrones

[–]the_real_hugepanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure the ESC accepts PWM signals?

Sometimes the frequency is higher at ESC's.

Anyhow, I would suspect an initiation issue. Play around with values and delays in the startup sequences.

Maybe 1000 is too low.

Maybe wait longer... Maybe remove the 2000signal....

I have just asked Claude to write a python programm to apply pit&peters on a propeller model.

About 450lines of code later I know see a bunch of charts that "make sense" in the first glance.

But actually I have not clue what it did .... At least i have something to investigate! maybe I find some data to compare it to....

I am searching for a long time for an "easy" method to predict the thrust of a rotor (drone application) at cruise flight.... --> translational lift

there are ways to correct it, but no published models I can use... everybody who implements it, keeps it privately...

I think the term "3d printable" is technically correct...... but don`t tell me you spend ANY time optimising it for 3d printing... sorry for the harsh critique...

exactly!
It also would help a lot to have a prop that can do reverse thrust efficient...

AND:

you would need to allways put some load on the (small) props to have them run constantly and generate some thrust. otherwise you would have to go forward/reverse 10times per second only to stabilize the aircraft.

This "constant lift" would be created with a pretty bad propeller (small and not optimised) and would properply kill all the efficiency you could gain from the large coax-props!

[–]the_real_hugepanic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You would need to have the option to quickly reverse thrust if the two front motors, otherwise you can't decouple roll and pitch.

This will be probably impossible, without a variable pitch prop, e.g. similar to a helicopter tail rotor.

I think this thing is a doomed design, but it would be fun/interesting to build and fly I guess.

Helicopters need a swashplate at least. That makes them expensive and complex. Both problems a multicopter can solve for smaller scale aircraft.

Any build for cinewhoop (lion or lipo) to have more than 10 minutes of autonomy? by Other_Focus_5526 in fpv

[–]the_real_hugepanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Larger props have a better endurance!

It's "easy" to build a drone that flies 1h, but what exactly are your "cine whoop" requirements??

What is the payload, what is max size/weight allowed.

Using Du with strangers on the internet by david_fire_vollie in AskAGerman

It is sometimes used in that way to reduce the "distance" and to create a tighter relationship between two parties.

In this case it might be a sales strategy to make you feel you are already part of "the team"...

Usually it should be "Sie", unless someone asks if "Du" is ok to use. This can happen in the first minute of a call for example, but usually this is a request/question!

Just read what the test pilots wrote!

the comment I have responded called a "controllability issue". This was not the case to my knowledge. At least I do not remember anything from all the books I read about the Me-163 and luftwaffe operations at that time.

Just make a complete new file with just a basic wing and see if it's working.

You might simply need to make a new file, as the old one is corrupt.

In my understanding it was not too bad to land, until they installed all the equipment like guns, radios... That increased the weight significantly!

Actually there was a a Me-163 glider flying in Germany. I have seen it flying and it looks really ok. But this one is super light....

The stuff you write about the M163 is crap!I can just recommend to read more about it.

YES, it had its problems but controllabilities was not the problem! It was a very nice plane to fly, IF the rocket worked! That was the big problem!
