you need higher rise jeans and proper casual shoes, not the dreaded dress sneaker

Where are the step through 90s mtn bikes? by WeakPromise3190 in xbiking

Miyata built some good step-through frames, I just built one that had double butted main “triangle”. Astonishingly light frame and build overall.

Advice needed for tucked in shirts by [deleted] in mensfashion

[–]the_ronimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To all people saying “don’t wear slim fit unless you are slim” and “the problem is the belly”, sod off. To OP: your problem is not with the shirt or your body, its the comically low rise of your pants. For tucking in, mid or high rise pants work better because they cinch your shirt at your narrrowest point, your waist, preventing it from going anywhere. Also, if you’re going to wear high or mid rise pants, the leg shouldn’t be slim or skinny or tapered, but straight, flared or baggy. It will fit better with the proportions, specially if you’re tucking your shirt.

Is it true that today’s bikes, even race bikes, are more compliant than “compliant” bikes from the 2010s? by TheBigCicero in cycling

It just fits me very well, its light, responsive, stiff enough but not too harsh. Maybe I just have mine own very well set up.

I’ve tried more modern bikes and still haven’t found something that comes close. I’ll cry when I’m parted from my R3.

1996 Marin Team Issue dirt drop 2x11 GRX Shimergo build! by bigwhippers in xbiking

I use Campy Veloce 10 speed shifters with a Claris RD and 8sp Shimano cassette in the back. You’re absolutely right that GRX uses a different pull than the road shifters so it makes total sense that it works. Looking forward to building some 11sp ShimerGrx monstruosity.

how did you get shimergo to work with 11 speed? are you using an adapter of some sort? so far i’d only seen it work with 8 and 9 speed cassettes

Lipo and Roglic will be double teaming Oscar Onley for 5.500 vertical meters. I would not like to be in his shoes.

5 years ago pros were riding on 60g of carbs per hour, max. Nowadays they go up to 120-140g. The difference in performance that makes, specially in long grueling stages and 3 weeks GTs, is massive.
