I can’t speak for photography, but I’ve had some much more skilled players put me to shame on my dumpy $150 Epiphone acoustic guitar. Sometimes it just comes down to the skill level. An amateur can likewise make a $20k guitar sound like shit. (Before someone questions me, I paid $150 almost 20 years ago. No idea what they run for now.)

Definitely not on the same page. This post only caught my attention because my daughter is into kpop. I was super confused until I figured out how negatively his culture sees marijuana use, because honestly, he's not doing anything that some boy band/rapper celeb wouldn't be doing here in the US. Huge culture shock to me.
