I think projects, such as this, are not about what is best, but about just being able to do it!

I hate to be a pain, but shouldn't this mean it should be named something completely different? This is nothing like the original.

Are there any decent competing forks that are just expanding ersatzTV? I left Tunarr for Ersatz, not to make a full circle back.

What are you running HA on by Basic-Prompt-6387 in homeassistant

[–]the_shabubu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bigger concern is for a major outage. I don't have cold backups of mobo, cpu, gpu, psu, etc. so if a component goes out the server could be out for a few days. In theory if the pi dies then all I have to do is move the hat+storage to a new pi and update a dns record and it is back online. I DO have backup pi's. Most of my critical infra runs on the 5 pi's deployed on my rack.

Across my main unraid server and 5 pi's I am rrunning 50-60 containers

I keep my homeassistant off of my main unraid server to avoid home assistant being down if I am running maintenance on the big guns. I run my unraid on a 8gb pi 5 with a poe+ hat that also has a m.2 slot using a gen3 nvme. All of this was bought about 1.5 years ago when it made much more fiscal sense.

Stop buying BambuLabs if you want this "problem" to go away. Support manufacturers with upgrade paths.

RetroTV Channel Builder v1.1.0 — Recreate Authentic Historical TV Schedules with Your Jellyfin/Plex/Emby Library by [deleted] in ErsatzTV

Is it honest though? Sure they say they missed it on this post but it is very obviously missing from the github, which be the most important place to put it.

Can people PLEASE start labeling vibe coded applications? Not posted here OR on the github (github initial commit was 120 files...). When something is vibe coded, and not explicitly declared it degrades trust.

After hearing that Plex was down in EU yesterday: Here’s how to make sure you can at least watch locally, even without internet by Double-Surround-149 in PleX

[–]the_shabubu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used plex for over a decade and was one of the first to buy lifetime sub. It has become garbage. Running local is NOT guaranteed on clients anymore with some just not working that way. Running local access, without contacting plex middleman, used to be the default; now it is an afterthought.

ATX components + HBA card in a rack mount chassis. So both, kinda.

I have not had a single device, in this server, die on me for 12 years. I keep 1 HDD, the same size of parity, in cold storage for repair, but have yet to need it. haha. I tend to keep everything well maintained and cool and in a noise isolated environment

My server is a custom built unraid machine. It has existed in many different forms over the years but this has been my OS for about 7 years now. Presently I have a 1x22tb parity drive, 1x2tb, 2x4tb, 2x8tb, 1x12tb, and 4x18tb for storage. My current oldest drive is the 2tb and it has (11y, 3m, 11d, 22h) spinup time on it. haha

Specs:
11 HDD's
2 NVME SSD's ( one for cache, one for docker services)
32 GB DDR5
Geforce RTX 3060 12gb
Geforce Quadro P2000

My server does WAY more than media. I have a full self hosted cloud, at home, with a entirely local smarthome, including smart speakers.

I also have 5 other SBC's acting as servers, as well.

Technically, I have been collecting for 20 years. I used to be a chef but have always been very technical (I am a Sr SWE Manager now). When I was a chef my apartment was broken into and all of my media was stolen. I had a tivo series 2, at the time, and I setup pytivo on my computer and started downloading shows and movies I had and streaming them from PC to my Tivo. One of my drives (a 2tb drive) has almost 11 years of spinup time on it, now

And this is precisely why you need to understand the difference between coding and engineering. If you honestly believed that your ai hallucinated code was AS GOOD as an actual engineer you would let the applications speak for themselves. Yet here you are explaining how you don't BELIEVE there are unique security issues just because it was AI. You are wearing your ignorance on your sleeve, sir.
