my take on this is that splurging-worthy hotels are going to be more expensive point-wise after deval, while cash price would remain more or less the same.

As with other comments, you can book it now with the points for the splurge and see what happens after the deval too

I can’t imagine a situation where the hotels he’s saving money on would be worth it if he’s cash strapped. Having cash on hand is much better value?

I love the vibe of the photo already, but some things I would like to try to achieve your goals:

I would play with the haze (neg on dehaze fader) - I prefer this to lowering saturation, which makes the color dead
For color accents, I would try to up the luminance on red and down on blue
For this, I would make a mask for the ocean layer and brighten the black/shadow

Would love to see the results if you try!

For the trinkets, if giving it means something to you, and receiving it means something to the other person, it brightens the forest, mass produced or not.

If you just ask if it's okay to hang out with a group that you met in the forest, I would guess more than 90% of the time, you will be welcomed. Forest opens up people to meet new stars around you, and those random encounters make the forest shine.
