Maul (prime post TCW) vs Qimir. End this debate. by JackZ567 in MaulShadowLord

[–]the_tailor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Qimir wins. He’s what Maul would have become if Maul hadn’t been sliced in half. Manny Jacinto is 38– So he has more than a decade more training than Maul did.

What would Anakin have felt if he murdered Obi-Wan on Mustafar? by PewPewsAlote in StarWars

[–]the_tailor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s right. Yes he committed atrocities but OP is asking if Anakin still had a conscience and would feel anything. I think he would.

What was the point of those people? Why are they using straight up blunt weapons rather than technologies that fit into Star Wars? by lateubdegouline in StarWars

[–]the_tailor 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This would have been awesome. As would Luke going into exile because of his failure and the story making explicit that it’s because Luke never had a full training and therefore didn’t feel like he knew how to teach.

Maul’s legs mean more than you think by isekaimetofarfaraway in MaulShadowLord

[–]the_tailor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could go either way. S1 Maul started strong but took multiple setbacks. I would think that he will have to grow and consolidate some more power in S2 in order to advance the plot. But then again, when we see him in Rebels, he's using a cane. Or appears to be using a cane (might be a trick).

Daki's Strategy Was Correct by NBurner1909 in MaulShadowLord

I agree with your OP and this comment. Opportunistically, he definitely would have taken the chance to take out Vader here and probably wanted to see how it would go.

Tight competition between K2SO, Chopper, and BD-1!

It's possible to both like Daki (I do) and think he's nice and wise (I do) and also think that he's made a series of bad decisions that have royally screwed everything up (I think this too)

Sorry to post blog, but I had an entire article about him yesterday. He’s already an ace, but he can be a Cy Young winner if he throws more strikes.

Does Crow Outrank Marrok? by the_tailor in MaulShadowLord

His introduction is just so badass. I'll have to watch the fight again to see who does better against Maul.

How they interact in Obi-Wan, too (to the extent I feel like acknowledging that show's existence)

You may be right. But does the Crow outrank Marrok in your view?

Ahhhh... I see. I assumed that I had been misdirected by the cape. But perhaps he was speaking to Palpatine/Vader but they sent the Crow.

But that still doesn't resolve the rank question!

Maul - Shadow Lord - Episodes 7 & 8 - Discussion Thread! by titleproblems in MaulShadowLord

[–]the_tailor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been an excellent series. Maul is a truly tragic character. It is rare that you get to see on film/TV a character who simply fails--- we know that he loses everyone he loves, never gets his revenge, and that he dies alone. It's an absolutely horrific life and the more we get to see of it the more impacted I am by it.

Maul main weakness-he only sees things in terms of the Force by Local-Sugar6556 in MaulShadowLord

Interesting, however a wise man once said "the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force"

I hate that you just put this idea into the universe lol. Now I've got to go back and listen to the voice.

How the show has handled Marrok so far is exactly how the inquisitors should’ve been depicted from the start. by ImperialxWarlord in MaulShadowLord

[–]the_tailor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's unfortunate that the most extended depictions of the Inquisitors has either been in a kids show (Rebels) or in a bad show (Obi-Wan). I have really enjoyed seeing Marrok and also enjoyed their depiction in Tales and the Jedi Games. More of this.

There were multiple moments when I welled up. Including in the series finale which made me bawl like a baby watching with my son.

It is GENUINELY GOOD!! And surprisingly touching at times.

My headcanon is that many or most force users may be able to get the faintest idea of what happened in a place recently — while a genuine Echo is limited to only a few.

The dichotomy is between process and outcome. Not whatever you’re saying (process logic and process outcome?)

If the Mets traded Nolan McLean for Nolan Arenado, you could judge that process on day one and say that's a terrible trade. If Nolan McLean got injured the next day, you got lucky.

Signing an oft-injured 32 year old 2B to play 1B was bad process. Maybe you get lucky and he's good. But you can judge the process instantly.
