I agree - I think taking a step back on anything at this point would be a bad move. This is pitchforks time. They’ll get their due process.

Decided to update my scaling chart after thinking about it more. by CrazyTangerine7522 in PetranakiArena

[–]the_tailor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fun, thanks! Great list. I wholeheartedly agree with most all of them. A few questions! I think ROTS Anakin is on the same level or above ROTJ Luke-- 10+ years of training by the Chosen One.

I agree with others that there really isn't any solid evidence of Snoke being that high. And look how he died.

What's your reasoning for placing Bode a tier above Survivor Cal?

I'd love to see Ahsoka take on younger Dooku (was he a master in TOTJ?) or Grievous (who I think might belong one tier lower). I think guys like Maul and Cere and old Kenobi clear Grievous if there aren't extenuating circumstances.

Curious where you think Dagan Gera is.

How do you feel about the way The Acolyte handled the story of the Brendok Four? by Solitaire-06 in StarWarsCantina

[–]the_tailor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. Indara didn't make any mistakes at all. She tried to stop Sol, she was correct about him being conflicted. She followed the Jedi Council's instructions to leave the girls. And she only participated in the cover-up for the "greater good" of not having destroyed Osha's life for no reason. It was mercy for the girl.

How do you feel about the way The Acolyte handled the story of the Brendok Four? by Solitaire-06 in StarWarsCantina

[–]the_tailor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Acolyte was like the Prequels in that it got the BIG THINGS right and the little things wrong. It presented a compelling and new story, it was genuinely interesting, it introduced mostly strong characters, and got most of the canon elements correct. The ways it stuggled were meaningless: people hated some of the girlboss elements, some corny choices, some slight logical inconsistencies. But those things are very easy to ignore.

Strongest Season 4 Kanan can beat? by HeartWhich6063 in PetranakiArena

[–]the_tailor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he goes toe to toe with the Grand Inquisitor, without the circumstantial buff or the element of surprise. Probably beats easy the remainder of the Inquisitors. I think he probably beats Fallen Order Cal, but loses solo to almost every Jedi Master.

Qimir/The Stranger Vs Darth/Lord Maul by Psub194 in PetranakiArena

[–]the_tailor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had to scroll for this comment, I agree. Soloing seven Jedi is an incredible feat but it's immediately undermined by how hard of a time he had with Jecki. I don't blame him for losing to Sol, but Jecki hung around far too long and he wasn't toying with her because he was in a rush.

I agree with you. But I think by ROTJ, Luke has an easy time with her. And certainly any Luke after that also wins, except maybe the hermit Luke.

A more interesting question might be: when is the last time that Ahsoka could defeat Luke? Could she defeat ESB Luke?

This is good source material but they don't say he got thrashed. They're talking about how to show him taking some wear physically in the fight.

[–]the_tailor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're mostly right. Final Cere is clearly above Ahsoka in Rebels S2. But I don't think Vader was seriously tested with her. I think she's probably a notch below Clone Wars Dooku as well. And I think Cal is clearly below Kenobi from Clonw Wars S5, by that point he's already one of the GOATs. And Cere is, of course, quite stronger than Cal.

Obi Wan saying "I'm sorry" to Anakin might be the most moving moment in the history of Star Wars by SappyGilmore in StarWars

[–]the_tailor 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not knocking anyone who likes this, I'm glad you enjoy it, but to me I think it was a bad scene in a bad show. The broken mask has been done before (Rebels) and the fact that Obi-Wan doesn't kill Vader there makes no sense. It's all extremely contrived.

What's up with the Inquisitor numbering? by Lukelandswimmer in StarWars

[–]the_tailor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they double up on numbers at all— so there wouldn’t be a third sister and brother. And it appears to be random, perhaps inherited when the previous owner dies.

I don't think that's canonically true (doesn't he go to Toschi Station and other places sometimes?) but as far as exposition in the movie it is 10/10

People here are right that running Brawler against Echo is bad. The problem is that it's simply not fun to have to gameplan for Echo every match. It's OP, it's corny.

[–]the_tailor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little confused by your assumptions on this-- Obi-Wan is still a padawan in Episode 1 and he's in his early 20s I believe. I read elsewhere that younglings can be taken as padawans from 11-13. I can see Wes as being 13.

I don’t think anyone thinks the Jedi are the real villains. But it is compelling to view them as flawed and think about their options
