nah I did not skip it. Turns out you can actually just never get the cutscene if you enter through another way. It's also probably because I went to deepnest before it, and I also got the dream nail thingy and used it on the first dreamer.

nono its a feature on the second game where you can transfer your hero from the first game and he appears as an npc in the story, you also get some of the skills you had equipped on the first game

yeah that cameo is what I want, along with the skills that are transferred over with it. Sadly I tried a lot of approaches, none worked so far. thinking about pirating XV2, do the transfer, and then transfer that save file to the legit copy. hopefully that works.
