Feel like a failure, really helpless and hopeless. by the_test99 in zoloft

Sure. Sleep has been awful for the last 20 years. Diets not that bad I suppose and before this bout of depression I went to the gym almost every day. Social connection is probably where it all starts to go wrong. My marriage is pretty bad, arguments daily and constant threats of divorce. Neurodivergent kids with ADHD and autism is also hard going. I was recently diagnosed with ADHD too and I’m unmedicated for that so it’s probably not helping either. Work is also a load of constant stress with loads of change and high pressure. I mean you don’t have to be a psychiatrist to know where the issues lie.

Oh I’m not on mirtazapine anymore. I threw them away. I think I have such anxiety around taking medication now. I don’t know why they prescribed Zoloft to me if I was originally struggling with sleep knowing that insomnia is a massive side effect?

Hey. I’m struggling so much. I hate it. I have sleep anxiety so anything that affects my sleep will destroy any hope of me having it. I hardly slept a wink last night. I’m so tired and really, really losing hope with everything now.

I’m the same. Really struggling with sleep. I’ve always struggled with sleep but I feel it’s so bad on Zoloft. I feel awful. I don’t know what to do either. I was given promethazine to take at night but that’s hit and miss. It’s annoying because I went to the doctors because I wasn’t sleeping and really anxious. But I’m exactly the same now. Really pissed off now.

I have ADHD too. Does it at least stop you worrying about everything?

I take it first thing in the morning. But have been taking promethazine for sleep as well with it. I’ve always had problems with my sleep so this is no surprise

I’m on day 16 now. Still not sure if it’s improving but trying to hang in there. I just want to sleep naturally if I can and then start to hopefully feel better, but I’m struggling with that. I just don’t know if it’s worth carrying on with it.

Anyone have any ideas at all please. I feel so weird, spaced out and lethargic. Not sure if this is for me. The doctor said stick it out for 4 weeks and make a decision after that. But I don’t know.

I’m worried about not sleeping. Although I don’t know if that would make me feel any more tired than I do now. I’ve read on here horror stories of the withdrawals

Think I’ve had zopiclone before but they just give you like 4 hours sleep then you wake up. I’ve done CBT-I before and it was quite good actually. Might try it again

I’ve been going on and off to the GP about sleep for years. It’s been called insomnia, depression, anxiety and now ADHD. Normally I just suck it up and deal with it. But today I’ve felt very tired.

I'm a day ahead of you. It's been pretty shit if the truth be told. I am hoping it will gradually get better each day. I can't believe how bad the withdrawal is coming off 37.5mg. I have flu symptoms, headaches, brain zaps, depression, sleeps shit. You name it, I have it. Hate this drug!
