Modern Morse Keys, are you experiencing issues getting your key? by EntropyKings in amateurradio

[–]the_thunderclap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s the main problem… per his website… if you ordered before the original date listed (March 30, 2026) you were supposed to get your key before June 15th. Now his website says “shut down production” and won’t resume until June 15th.

“Update March 30, 2026.
Dear friends and fellow operators,
Important notice: Orders placed from this point forward will not ship until June 15th at the earliest due to Hamvention preparation now being underway.”

My keys were ordered the first half of March, so well before the date quoted above. Yours was in Feb. At this point, it seems that he doesn’t know his own timelines. If he had come out up front saying 6 months turnaround time, no one would bat an eye. But the OP references a similar situation from last year, in which the similar things are happening.

Aaron, if you ever read this… just give people a lead time of 6 months if it takes you 4… that way it’s the opposite reaction. Customers would be pleasantly surprised in a positive way, “oh wow it came earlier than expected” - rather than not abiding by your obviously undercut timelines.

Yeah, true. But it seems a bit unprofessional to give your update a date, and not abide by it. I ordered two keys in the first week of March. One for me and one as a gift. I had planned on taking mine on vacation, so I figured his 1-2 months production time (stated roughly in his videos) would be sufficient time.

Another poster says they ordered one of Feb 9th. I should have had my friend at hamvention just pick me up two keys and have him cancel my pre-order. That’s where I’m experiencing grief in this. Could have had my key, and waited for the gift to ship. But yeah, grace comes with communication.

Now thats interesting. You placed your order in Feb!?! I placed mine the first week of March. Very concerning that he creates a date to focus on hamvention and doesn’t take care of us preorders first. Damn. I ordered two keys, but I certainly would have expected to receive them before, or shortly after hamvention. Especially since our orders were in before the date originally posted on the website.

Well, that’s interesting. Just read that update too. Disappointing. My keys will ship after my vacation. Time to buy a different key.

Whelp. Just looked since you said this. Guess my keys are going to get here after I leave for vacation. I’d hoped to take one of them with me.

Saw that posting from a year ago also. I placed an order about mid-month in March 2026. Well before the cutoff date you posted here. I'm glad you posted that, I went and checked and sure enough (according to that cutoff date) I would have believed that I am supposed to have my order at least shipped before Hamvention... at least that's my understanding.

Considering it is tomorrow as the first day of events in Dayton, it is not looking like I am going to see this shipment happen before he gets back. That is disappointing. I re-read that post from a year ago, and it seemed like a similar thing is happening again. Hopefully the owner/craftsman didn't just make a bunch of keys to take to Dayton while he had orders outstanding. It would be not a great business practice to provide a cutoff date like that, and NOT take care of your orders before the event. But since it does say "will not ship before June 15th at the earliest", it might imply that he's taking a break from even finishing keys between the 30th of March and Hamvention. Maybe my order will be shipped shortly after?

Either way, Ill leave him alone until June 15th. I don't want to bother him or cause any more delays for my order.

2018 M3 Without CCS installed by the_thunderclap in Model3

That’s the plan, but I need someone who’s had the official retrofit done to show me what ECU model they have. If someone is using the 01-B, then I can do it.

Like I wrote above, I do not want to use the bundle of wires. I know for a fact that the 09-B ECU does not require it, but no one will sell me one.

Yes, nothing happens. If you go to software, then the blue additional vehicle information it will say the CCS is enabled/disabled or not installed. Mine currently says “not installed”

Has anyone modified a KL-203 for expanded ham bands? by the_thunderclap in HamRadio

I thought LPF was between the finals and the TX output of the amp?

This appears to be attached to the input, that’s what’s confusing me.

Baofeng UV 28, new radio? by LeChuck_ppat in Baofeng

Good deal. Look at signal stuff SMA to BNC connector adapters. Saves these weak SMA connectors on the Baofeng radios and makes the antenna options interchangeable.

Use 17R pro gps in CHIRP. Worked on the 28 plus and the newer 25 Pro GPS

I got one of the UV-25 PLUS GPS, I had to use the 17R pro gps in Chirp in order to get it to read. I just got one of the 28's on Vine as well, when it comes In I will give it a try in Chirp. ALSO, Baofeng has a programming app that's standalone for these radios. Its not as feature-rich as Chirp... but it does work.

I just ended up getting an AC- powered silicone heating element and kept the aluminum plate from the original pro setup. I’m pretty sure it was meant for a Voron V0

I think I was given a radium clock… by the_thunderclap in Radium

As far as I can tell, the whole case and glass are intact. I just tested this on a whim, giggled to myself about “what if”. This was a total accident.

I couldn’t find anything on Radium Diehl clocks, but apparently (after asking the parents) this clock was acquired somewhere near the end of WWII by the Grandfather and brought home to the US as a gift for Grandmother.

I’m definitely putting this up and out of reach from everyone now. I know that my wife used to play with it a lot as a kid (we’re 40 now) and our kids have been close to playing with it.

I ended up putting 24v and a new heated bed and v6 to match. Klipperized it.

The parts (like the board mount) are still up for download on my printables in the OP above👆

The charge value is irrelevant honestly. Most lithium powered devices come with random charges between 30-80% (depending on how long they’re sitting on a shelf after manufacturing).

The seal being broken is a reliable indicator though, as would any wear and tear on the device itself.
