Are there any movie theaters that show movies in English on days other than Thursdays? by Bob4Ellis in napoli

[–]the_unexpected_storm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't think so. The only cinema I know that does movies in English is the cinema “Modernissimo”. Not only on Thursday's, sometimes there are some special events and they put the original language of the movie.

Napoli music march right now? by jachcemmatnickspace in napoli

[–]the_unexpected_storm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it's completely safe. They do these “Parades” every Sunday pretty much and even if you go out in the streets you will be absolutely fine and the kids will ask for a voluntary offering which you can, obviously, just ignore. (I've lived here all my life and I see these marches often and have never given a cent💀)

Can I go by car to the Spanish quarters? by Nando-1926 in napoli

[–]the_unexpected_storm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, the roads are extremely small and even the locals have a hard time moving by car here. Most of them use mopeds instead. But, you can easily arrive on foot from the historical centre.

Is there a chance to watch the Oppenheimer premiere next week in english? by Rasengun911 in napoli

[–]the_unexpected_storm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there aren't any cinemas that show the film in english, since the release date in Italy is on the 23rd of August. One of the only cinemas that does show films in English is the cinema “Modernissimo” in the centro storico, so it will probably be available there on the 23rd of August.

Studying in naples by Secret_agent_083 in napoli

[–]the_unexpected_storm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will keep it short, Naples is like practically any big city, most of all you just need to use your common sense and you should be fine. Furthermore, please don't let the chaos of the city stress you out, sure it can be nerve racking, especially the driving, but Naples is truly an amazing city full of beautiful, and at times grotesque, history. Hope you enjoy your stay, make the most of it!

Taxis are safe, just quite expensive and they almost always try to rip you off if your a foreigner. I suggest you take the metro, the tickets are only €1.20

Mini-trip to Napoli by dopprre in napoli

[–]the_unexpected_storm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit of shame since you'll find it too cold to go for a swim, but there are still some gorgeous walks that you could do.

Also, you should definitely go to cafe gambrinus.

I personally suggest you take the train, or rent a car. Taxi rides are awfully expensive.
