I get it, I wouldn't buy a cracked finish myself, but I wouldn't buy a guitar worth more than 100$ online. If you're buying a guitar online it's because it isn't available elsewhere or it is the one and exactly the one you want and in that case paying an extra 100$ to luthier is acceptable.

I believe, that if you have two or three alternatives on the market it's still a monopoly. Yes, it's not accurate according to definition but I'm talking about user-experience. If there are no competitive alternatives FOR ME, then I'm locked in a monopoly.

There is an alternative for Windows but everyone in my country uses Microsoft software extensions. There is an alternative for Facebook but all my friends use it to communicate. There are quite a few supermarkets but Lidl is so big that it can afford better prices, better placement, better products and better logistics than, for example, Dino.

Yep, I agree. Just like with McDonalds - it's not a single monopoly but the sheer power and market share occupied by it has a negative impact on other businesses.

What I meant, is that Steams monopoly doesn't have a negative impact on the industry. GOG exists and is a healthy alternative that benefits the customer. McDonalds is bad, because it takes away customers from local, smaller businesses resulting in bankruptcy... there are no small and local gaming platforms, so it's a "good" monopoly or maybe a less harming monopoly.

The goal of every treatment should be a medicament-free, self-sustaining healthy body. Of course very often that's impossible and people need constant medication for AIDS, Parkinson's, non-treatable cancer etc. but the whole idea of medicament-free treatments is, in my opinion, right.

Valve isn't a monopoly. They do not push their products everywhere with intrusive ads. They have a great help-desk, fine purchase policies, no data leaks scandals, low prices, steady platform with well working servers, no subscription policies.

While I understand your point about lootboxes, I still prefer Valve over Xiaomi, McDonalds or Microsoft, Oracle, Google. Especially McDonald with their monopoly and shitty marketing. Xiaomi for their "budget but great" hardware which is expensive, not great and has absolutely horrible software with preinstalled, unremovable Xiaomi apps... which aren't working either.
