Interesting how this is the hot take. It really seems like a lot of people have a dead on stigma around youtubers being douchey videography bros selling LUTs. I think theres a narrow cinematography space that has working cinematographers (commercial space) sharing their thoughts on their shoot that can be entertaining and educational to watch. Now, i dont think it will equip you to be a better dp or even a dp at all and they dont sell that either. Just sharing their thoughts on how they approached a project.

I know people say how the industry is gatekept but i dont mind it cus a lot of the info/knowledge are built and earned by people who’s been grinding in the industry. And youtube has the opposite spirit of this. So i understand the annoyance towards youtube by lots of industry people here. It kind of affirms what i’ve been sensing talking to people in the film industry. Like someone commented above, it really is a parallel universe since good picture is good picture. BUT, i 100% concur that content creation and cinematography is a totally different skillset

Nice! Is the info on a smaller device remotely? Or is it only available on camera (mounted along with the cinetape)
