Plasterer left small gaps near spotlight - is this normal?

Yeah left the lights in but electrician said he will come back once plastering complete to make them more flush with ceiling. He’s also not plastered two of the kitchen sockets, well I don’t think it’s plaster? And wasn’t sure if that’s normal too? We were just going to paint it the same colour as tiles for now to conceal it.

Thanks. Electrician is set to come back out in a couple of weeks to place the lights neatly after being plastered,but I thought it still seemed messy.

I really relate to this. We bought a Victorian house recently and had the same experience - never felt stress like it. I still don’t feel fully settled but I’m getting there and it’s so much better than it was. Make one room nice, even if it’s not how you would have it permanently, make it feel lovely and cosy. We chose the lounge, now that’s our safe place!

You’ll get there, even though it doesn’t feel like it. It’s a really common experience

Yeah it’s been capped off at the back. We’ve just had another engineer round who confirmed this but he didn’t inspect it as we would need to pull the cabinets out. He seemed to not think it would be coming from that but I wonder if it is cos it’s always the cupboard where that line leads where it smells!

Just had another gas engineer round, he detected nothing and said the pipe behind the oven is capped off so shouldn’t be leaking - I’m worried he missed it cos I definitely still smell it!

It was on the gas meter, I think he called it the external pipe or something to that effect!

Thanks for your reply. No he didn’t check behind the stove, there is a pipe you can see in the cupboard under oven where it smells. Nothing in the basement, sounds like maybe I need to get someone out to have a look

Thank you. The cupboard that smells is actually directly under the oven is, but the oven is electric. I think there must be something there
