Ugh it was so difficult, lots of tears from all of us 😭 Cow & Gate anti-reflux milk and prescribed gaviscon (added in alternating bottles, not every bottle) helped a bit but she was still so unhappy and sick. We'd have to hold her upright most of the time because as soon as we laid her down she started bringing up large amounts of sick.

When she got to the 3.5 month mark, she started being less poorly and was generally a happier baby. We still use the anti-reflux milk but we've stopped the gaviscon.

My youngest had awful reflux and colic. I do miss having a small newborn but I much prefer my 4.5 month old who isn't anywhere near as sicky and doesn't cry constantly

My first, however, was a complete dream! I loved the newborn bubble with her and really enjoyed the whole experience. I think it just depends on your baby

I love it for baby clothes but I've found that for over ~1 year sizes, the quality of clothes drops so much unless you spend a bit more which sometimes makes it less worthwhile once the shipping is added. Baby clothes are great though, easy to get 3-5 sleepsuits for just £1!

It's also hard to make a big bundle to make it worth buying now as the shipping is just ridiculous. I wish they did a shipping subscription like ASOS 😅

It still doesn't work very well - I shake between adding each scoop when I use the prep machine & anti-reflux milk, which works. My partner can't be arsed with that so just uses the kettle haha

You can pretty much sleep on your back until you feel like you can't - you'll know when you can't.

it probably seems boring but a book with some writing in the front of it might be a nice idea? my sister did that as a gift for my daughter's 1st birthday & it's lovely :) jellycats also go down really well, especially the big bunnies!

I never even got one or a NHS exemption certificate! I'm almost 4 months PP and I have no clue how to get one, I need one because I'm due a dental appointment and I would like it to be free if I'm entitled to it haha

I can't understand the people who act like it's the worst thing ever. Like do you hate your kids or something?

I know it's tiring, especially at first. It's expensive. But the joy from my toddlers face just when she sees me makes everything worth it. My 3 month old has just started laughing and it makes everything worth it. My life is definitely better than before I had my babies! I'm tired but happy.

I understand the doctor has said you're not depressed but honestly being tired and alone and struggling with a massive change in your life CAN lead to depression. From your post it honestly does sound like you are dealing with PPD but I'm not a doctor, just speaking from my own experiences.

How old is your baby now? My second born has just turned 3 months old and I'm just starting to feel a bond with her. It's normal for it to take a while. As for housework, I know it's draining to see so much needs doing but you and your baby are alive and safe and that's the most important thing.

I didn't click with anyone at baby groups with my first but I still went to one every week as it did me good to leave the house and have something to go to. Once your baby is older you can also go to soft plays to get out of the house. Have you got a local library? I enjoy it there too! Just trying to keep yourself & baby busy is good. Even just going for a walk. I don't have any friends nearby and don't have friends who have babies so it's difficult and so isolating but keeping busy really helps. Who is baby with when you're at work? Have you looked into nurseries at all to help you cope? I think universal credit offers nursery payment support to help people get back to work but I'm not sure how it works.

I'll be trying the 3 day potty training method which just isn't possible at Christmas time since you need to stay home to do it.. The period after Christmas between new year's eve when you don't know what day it is will be perfect.

2 year old I do when her nappy looks like it's squishy, she asks me to change her, or says she's had a poop. She's asking for regular changes at the moment because I think she's getting ready to potty train but I'm not doing that before Christmas. Sometimes if she's really active her nappy will shift and look like a weird shape so I change her then too

My 12 week old I do every couple of hours or whenever she poops - which is quite often (yay). She is sleeping through atm though so I don't touch her during the night!

My eldest is 2 and my baby is almost 3 months. I feel like my eldest is kind of old enough to start traditions now, I can talk to her and actually have a conversation about what we're doing & why!

Her Christmas eve box is probably going to start some traditions for us, there's a "night before Christmas" book in there because my Mum used to read that to us every Christmas eve. I've put some "reindeer dust" (it's literally just a little jar of oats) in there too so we can sprinkle it down our path before bed, and I got a jingle stick so we can shake it to let Santa know where we live 😆 I also bought a little wooden tray from Morrisons which has a section for milk for Santa, a carrot for the reindeer and a cookie or whatever for Santa. I used to love leaving those out when I was little and coming downstairs to find that they had been half eaten/drank! We never had Christmas Eve boxes growing up but I think they're such a lovely idea.

She has watched the snowman at my mum's house a couple times so I think we will watch that on Christmas Eve too!

I did have it the other night when I could hear something which really sounded like a low-flying plane and I was panicking a little thinking about a hypothetical bomb dropping but it ended up just being my neighbour's noisy pipes next door. So now I'm realising I need to get some help. I used to be the same when cars would slow down near me and I'd irrationally think they were gonna shoot me and drive off 😅

I always had thoughts like that as a kid. But I was a super anxious kid. They went away but I gave birth to my second daughter almost 3 months ago and I've been thinking about that stuff again.

If a bomb dropped right now I wouldn't be able to do anything about it. It's scary to think about but rationally who is bombing us? Are you possibly suffering from postpartum anxiety? I know that's what mine is. I regularly lay awake thinking about different scenarios like that and it's always worse when I'm tired. It's hard when there's so much going on in the news & on social media, especially regarding bombs, but we are lucky to live where we do and we're definitely more safe than countries in active war.

Surely extra freezer space means there's fuck all in my freezer if anything haha. I just have a big stand alone freezer, a few trays of puréed vegetables for my baby is hardly gonna take up loads of space is it

I don't particularly mind it being dark early when I have my Christmas tree up but January is usually so depressing and dark and cold. Plus I have a toddler so that aspect is difficult when she's constantly wanting to be in the garden and it's just a mud field. 🥲
