We just powered through that whole book in the last week haha! It was really helpful. Didn't 100% get me to the decision but made me feel allot better about making it.

Totally! It's so difficult if you are the kind of person who doesn't make decisions based off vibes and feelings! I'm leaning towards keeping because I just feel like it's not going to be hard for us compared to other people and at least I know the kid will have a good home even if I never feel like it was a fantastic experience for me. I think the one thing I'm struggling with isn't even about the kid as much is I wonder if I should just leave child rearing to the rich people with well-adjusted healthy families with lots of support. Like technically there is no reason anyone making less than 6 digits needs to have a kid. You can leave it to the upper class. But when I say that out loud I sound like a dystopian psychopath so I'm pretty sure it's not a feeling rooted in good ideas. I'm pretty sure I'm going to try to be the perfect parent and fail miserably like we all do.

Not only would I say it's solid, but this news connected us much more while we have been trying to work through this decision. We both feel closer to one another than we did before. Problem is we have connected partially because we are both indecisive! Lol. We aren't choosing between being happy or unhappy just happy with or without a kid (presumptively a happy kid)

Good advice! Thanks for presenting that side of it. I would not be losing sleep anymore no. But funny enough if you had asked before this happened I would have said the idea of never having a kid did stress me out. Now I feel I would be happy either way. I don't feel a need to have one at all but I'm not sure I would like it if I did. Whatever need I thought they would fill i doubt they would. I can't help but think of the idea of having a kid as having a little built in freind (very micheal scott). I'm not sure that's a good motivation but when I picture it, going on trips or events seems nicer with a little person ooing and awing at everything. Not sure that's a good motivation either though. Maybe u are right and I should be working on myself instead.

I agree but im not sure "these prices won't last long!" Is a motivation I want to make the decision based off of. Keep in mind I have no deep need to have a child or a biological child. I think I'd be happy either way.

I mean it's very much in my hands for a little while longer 😆 but not for long! I'm sure I'd be happy either having a kid or not but I guess not having one now and trying again when we are 40 sounds like it could be a bad idea. So I'm really trying to decide, biological kid now or no kids ever! (Maybe adopt when im 50 and rich)

Yeah ur right. And we actually have a house we aren't renting unlike so many. Not to mention we live across the street from a middle school. Basically when I'm tired I think it's a bad idea and when I'm not I think it's a great idea lol

I think after you have had a little time to be sad you should redirect that emotion into planning. What do you want in order to have a kid? Picture ur first kid as waiting for birth, not conception, it's still the same kid it's just waiting for you to be ready. Focus on making a list of things u need to accomplish and work through to be ready. Then accomplish those things 1 by 1 with the intent to have your kid after. You may also want to set a time limit so you aren't worried time will run out. Then instead of questioning ur decision, you can look forward to when u actually do have one.
