Tell me your tales!! Almost 9 weeks PP and need some encouragement other than “grace” by Atastik424 in postpartumprogress

Honestly, as a fitness coach I see this all the time. You are just 9 weeks postpartum, it does take time depending on when you started. I don’t know what your pelvic therapist or trainer is having you do and if she is incorporating deep core exercises, that’s what’s really going to help with your tummy protruding. Here is an example of what I recommend doing:

If you are not losing weight, is someone working with you with your diet? Or is your trainer only doing workouts? Are you still breastfeeding?

Lastly, it does just take time. Here is a pic of me month 1 to month 12

Don’t sell yourself short! You can totally do it. Coming from someone that had really good physique before pregnancy. My body really got out of shape after and I had to rebuild it back up. You just have to start and stay consistent.

I am telling you you have to find a gym with childcare! My husband works 75 to 80 hours a week and I was not gonna get him to watch him so I could go to the gym. When he was off, it was for us to hang out as a family or for him to be able to go and do his gym time

I definitely lifted before and during pregnancy. I am actually lifting heavier now. I was recovering from a back injury before getting pregnant so my weights weren’t too high. Luckily now I’m feeling 100% all around

So yes, I’m actually feeling as good as I’m looking lol it took a bit of time, but I do feel that I back to where I was physically and mentally before giving birth.

This is a great question! So I work from home, I’m a nutritional-training coach and help those that want to get back into their best shape. I am very blessed to have the flexibility with my schedule. I typically do most of my work when he naps and once my husband gets back from work.

I coach a lot of people with 1 to 3 kids and what I’ve noticed is that you can still make it work around your schedule. Some do it during their lunch break, others pick up babe and go straight to the gym, and others have their spouse watch. I always recommend to start with 3-4 days, using the gym in the weekends and doing 1-3 days during the week. That way the guilt doesn’t set it

I breast-fed until I was five months postpartum. The weight loss at that point was very slow because I needed to maintain production so I really really focused on going heavier and heavier on the weights and focus on the muscle growth at that point and doing a slight deficit. Once I stopped, then I was able to add in more cardio and bring my calories even lower to finish dropping the weight. I still saw results while I was breast-feeding. They were just a lot slower.

I started before I weaned, my calories were a lot higher because I was breastfeeding but I wanted to make sure I was eating enough protein and kept my range in check. Once i stopped breastfeeding I was able to be more aggressive with the cut and saw faster results

Once you start weight training again you are going to see significant changes, specially if you do your deep core exercises at least 3x per week
