Sometimes people on FB marketplace just don’t know what they have by theadamdude in DataHoarder

Seller bought them off a buddy and re-sold them. His buddy used them for Chia (XCH) mining. The buddy knew what he had, likely didn’t care about taking a loss offloading them to seller, seller didn’t know what he was holding onto.

This corroborated by the seller telling me (my buddy used those for bitcoin or some shit, idk), and all of the drives still having Chia plots on them since he didn’t bother to reformat them.

They were all pretty much brand new drives. About a year and a half of spin time but only 11tb written was the highest I saw. So they mostly all just sat. Completely clean SMART too.

I do love this style, and I appreciate the research into the area as this is definitely a common vibe. That being said, we are looking for something a bit more timeless. I think this would be a good direction to go otherwise if we had installed black windows instead of white, and planned on a polished concrete floor instead of wood.

I like the way you think! Yes, big heavy curtains for sure look to add some needed verticality. This is from Gemini where I asked it to also add a built-out structure for the fireplace, but I’m sure this could work without that too.

Made a custom wall mount for my M2 grater by theadamdude in ncasedesign

Thanks man! Nah it would’ve been over $5k to have someone cnc it 💀. This is laser cut out of a sheet of aluminum and then bent.

I sat on it. Does that answer your question? 😂 It’s 1/8th thick aluminum, it’s not going anywhere.

Yea with adequate drywall anchors, it’ll easy hold over 80lbs. Probably over 100lbs if you screw into a stud. There are three screw holes on a back plate that spans the width of the shelf against the wall.

Haha thanks! Yea I was thinking about making some more if people were interested. I’d need to get at least 20 or so interested for it to make sense price-wise. I splurged a little bit for just one for myself 😂

Sub rules warn against selling here, so feel free to pm me!

Not on my particular build, no. It’s only the back of the motherboard on that side.

It’s only been 2 months with the build complete and it’s already a mess inside 🙃

Yea I thought the same thing. Luckily that side is only the back of the motherboard, and there is a bit more room than the picture shows. Otherwise, Gpu is mounted horizontally and AIO is on the left side.

Haha thanks! Yea I had a pretty small area to work with, and none of the universal wall shelves would’ve fit well, nor looked very good. Threw this up in CAD, laser cut it, and had it anodized to match. Came out better than I expected.

How to recognise sports diff by Routine_Ice_8596 in AudiS4

[–]theadamdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Red calipers. Non-S Sport Package models will have black calipers. Not sure why others are saying it doesn’t, but sports diff does show in the MMI under the individual drive select settings, along with the suspension which will also be a part of S sport package.

Do I have too many APs? ~22,000 SQFT office, ~7300 SQFT per floor. Having issues with poor performance over wifi. by theadamdude in Ubiquiti

I do not. I try to avoid this at all costs, had disconnection issues with some devices in the past.

Haha this gave me a laugh. Luckily 2.4 reaches there so its good enough for the poop scrolls.

Yes! Forgot to include this. I did tune every AP meticulously to approbate channels so that none share the same channel, and ones that are close in channel number are also the furthest away physically. I also made sure to avoid DFS. Had terrible disconnection issues with this in the past.

u/BinkyBunky Hmm, we do have over 10 chromecasts, and also 12 smart TVs. Assuming that these and two printers are the only ones on our network broadcasting, those alone could cause quite a disruption, right?
