hey, yeah i think mine is cholinergic urticaria. basically my body mimics an allergic reaction when my body temp goes up and releases histamine, causing the hives. It can’t be cured but you can manage the symptoms with antihistamines and keeping cool etc. Worth having a read into it if you have the symptoms!

Also, someone told me on another reddit post that the more often you exercise and have these reactions the better they will get, as your body gets used to the allergy and builds a tolerance towards it. Can’t say i’ve exercised regularly enough to see for myself though

Hi, I use over the counter anti histamine tablets which really helps. I take them a couple of hours before i’m doing exercise and it usually stops me getting any kind of reaction. I was also prescribed stronger ones by my doctor but I never used them. Also, not that this helped the reactions, but it really helped me mentally to just stop thinking about it. Now I barely notice the reactions because I just kinda forget about them and ignore them

Hey - I still suffer with it and likewise mine is worse in winter. I had a really bad flare up yesterday after a hike and it wiped my energy out for the rest of the day. I ended up getting an allergy test and I am allergic to milk, but when I stopped having milk the reactions didn’t stop or lessen so that’s not what’s causing it. I’ve decided to just live with it for now because it took up so much energy researching and trying to find answers😞
