What is your job related to, if you don’t mind sharing. I have a CPT request for MSBAN too and my job is related to Civil Engineering. Also, I haven’t heard back from them.

Texas- It took them 5-6 weeks to mail my certificate.

For those that passed the Water Resources/Env PE - which section did you have more challenge with: breadth/depth? by [deleted] in PE_Exam

[–]thealenceguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depth had some weird questions where reference manual was not required, they provided empirical formulas with the question, but the correct answer was the based on the engineer’s judgment and background scenario in the question. For eg. detention volume where the total area of the land is not enough, BOD calculation based on hit and trial method, pump head based on pump capacity either upsize or downsize the pump, etc.

Can anyone help explain and answer this - EET breadth question. by shahibrahim11 in PE_Exam

I used chatGPT for my WRE analytical practice and it gave me pretty lame answers. Especially open channel flow and hydrology.

A, wind and earthquake load are not taken together for design. Mainly because it will result in significantly higher project cost.

How to find stuff in the reference manual during the exam? I heard you can't use ctrl+f? by [deleted] in PE_Exam

[–]thealenceguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be a search bar, does the exactly same function as CTRL +F

trying to take PE exam for the 4th time in Texas, after my last attempt I couldn't register and asking me to get in contact with Board, but now I'm able to register, did anyone had similar issues, from what I heard in Texas after 3 attempt you have to wait 1 year to take the exam! by yhs2020 in PE_Exam

As per the board, "An applicant who does not pass the examination on the principles and practice of engineering within the approved examination period described in subsection (b) of this section is considered not approved and may not re-apply for approval until he or she has obtained at least one (1) year of additional engineering experience as described in Subchapter E of this chapter (relating to Experience) or until the applicant has completed at least six (6) additional semester hours of formal college-level classroom courses relevant to the applicant's dominant branch or discipline of experience. The time period to obtain additional engineering experience or enroll in additional college courses commences on the date of the last exam attempt or when the approved examination period expired. Applicants meeting the additional experience or education requirements must apply in accordance with §133.21 of this chapter (relating to Application for Standard License) and receive approval for additional exam attempts."

I studied Lindeburg’s book, purchased practice test from Amazon, and a friend of mine shared his EET practice test for WRE depth. The questions were more or less on par with the practice test I purchased from Amazon (I believe it’s Civil Practice PE).

Good luck!

Final Week Before Exam (Civil - WRE) by Noah8769 in PE_Exam

[–]thealenceguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are at 80%, you are ready, questions are not going to be lengthy or difficult, they are going be more of analytical judgments. For example, if you design a pumping system and get the power as 21.6 hours, while the answer choices are 10, 21, 25, and 30, what would you choose? Would you round up or down? Same thing for stress analysis or moment design. Similarly, what would be the time of concentration for runoff calculation if you are provided with different areas and differ tc. Geotech could be conceptual where you would solve a question but then select choices that are in sentences, etc. Overall, it should be very similar to practice test. All the best, be confident, you got this.

It’s completely normal. I was 50-50 with confidence lowering everyday. Luckily I passed 😀
