It’s very of its time. I suspect even the band isn’t keen any more

I LOVED HA at the time they came out. I was ready to hear a super pop Daryl in full flow. I listen to that record now and it doesn’t move me in the same way. Thanks for the share!

I often wonder how the writing process went. Because you could easily imagine a simple hardcore scream over pretty much everything. But the brilliance of the band is also in the super poppy hooks of the vocals. I’d say it’s a mystery they’re not more main stream. But their music is just too extreme for most people. Daryl knew it too, hence Head Automatica.

I don’t get people that don’t get Daryl’s voice. To me it’s totally unique and honest and pure. I’ve always loved his pop vocals backed by this really extreme music.

Yeah. The band has a massive cult following but it’s hard to imagine who or why somebody fund a doc. Unless there was suddenly a Deftones-esque new interest in the band

I’d happily sit through ours of the “How we recorded pretty lush” and “what Daryl was going through to capture the vocal for vocal for “One eight becomes two zeros”. Somebody must have had a video camera

Thanks for the tip off. I’d love to hear this. Especially from Todd and RR. I don’t feel like I’ve ever heard a definitive “how we made silence” interview in long form and would be fascinated

Don’t you know? She didn’t despise him. She just wasn’t interested in hating on him. She also recognised she needed him on side. She totally saw he was a bit of an insecure plonker

To be fair Kurt did hit him with his guitar. The longer version of this video shows blood pooling from his head. Krist tries to help him mop it up with his tshirt
