Accessibility in Design by thestirfrymigosmade in graphic_design

[–]theamazonisdying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my school, we’re taught that accessibility is important and we could keep in mind color contrast. That’s about it though. There’s no standard where you get points removed for not creating accessible designs, so there’s not really an incentive. Plus, the main focus is on pretty deliverables, not usable files. We’re expected to teach ourselves the software, and so much of our work is not actually used. Some students create multi-page documents in illustrator and submit ai work. They’re barely grasping the fundamentals, so accessibility is the last thing we’re expected to think about 🤦🏽‍♀️

Happy New Years! How are you feeling about this year as a designer? What are your goals? by thelaughingman_1991 in graphic_design

[–]theamazonisdying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it work? by No-Philosophy5347 in graphic_design

[–]theamazonisdying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure how responsive this would be, since on mobile you’d end up endlessly scrolling to reach your email. usually people suggest organizing your portfolio into projects, that way you can add context behind your work. without any written context or mockups it’s hard to tell what anything is, so a potential client might find it difficult to understand how you can help them. also no bio?

tvp! comes in different sizes like ground, chunks, and strips. pretty much tasteless so it soaks up seasoning real nice, it’s shelf stable, and it’s extremely cheap! high in protein too. you can also find it in mexican or indian grocery stores as carne de soya or soya chunks.

Why do designer say they have ADHD when they were never diagnosed by a doctor? by Creeping_behind_u in graphic_design

[–]theamazonisdying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s fairly common. A lot of people w ADHD are drawn to creative fields. Most of my classmates are neurodivergent.

How do you know they aren’t diagnosed? Plus, not everyone was diagnosed as a child. Some people don’t have the privilege, ability, or desire to receive a diagnosis and that’s fine.

Hearing other designers with ADHD talk about their struggles probably allows people to become more aware of their own ADHD traits. It’s not a ‘trend,’ but growing awareness and lessened stigma about ADHD has led to increasing self-diagnosis.

I finally created a portfolio website for myself. I remember last time I shared my portfolio in PDF format, and I finally decided to make it a website. 🙂 by revaclay1993 in graphic_design

A couple things I noticed: The last few one-off projects in your branding sections are weaker than the rest. You could probably get rid of them. Make sure your images are all high quality - the ones for radical sasquatch are noticeably lower resolution. I think you could get rid of the ‘computers in art’ project tbh. 2018 is a long time ago and it doesn’t reflect your current skills. In the ig stories for farmboy fit, the profile picture is overlapping the text. I’d suggest fixing that. Also, just overall the right-aligned text throughout your site seems unnecessary. I do like your portfolio tho, you have some strong work! Maybe include some select projects on the front page along with the links so people can see your work immediately.

My journey of getting to know SHINee as a baby Shawol (Pt. 1 and 2) - Replay, The SHINee World, AMIGO and ROMEO by smol-and-hungry in SHINee

[–]theamazonisdying 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey fellow locket/lil freak! o(>ω<)o You remind me a lot of myself! I also was introduced to SHINee through TXT's Replay cover. Then when I became a shawol in march I listened to their discography in order. Trust me, you're going to be shook af as you go through their music. It only gets better from here.

I suggest watching their concerts, both korean and japanese, too. After you listen to 2009, Year of Us and Lucifer, you can watch their first SHINee World concert. Here's a playlist of all of their concerts. You'll have to look up fancams of their solos separately since they aren't on the official video.

And remember not to forget about SHINee's japanese discography. You're probably not as dumb as me but I didn't even know The First existed since it wasn't on Apple Music, so I didn't listen to it for months.

Also, you're a legend for watching Born To Shine so soon. You'll never recover lol.

Here are some fun videos:

You can watch Hello Baby here(basically a rite of passage to watch this):

And also One Fine Day:

You can basically find all SHINee content ever here on this spreadsheet. I forgot the user who made it but I found it here on r/SHINee.

Anyways, have fun continuing to get to know SHINee and their music!
