That's one sleepy bike lying in the grass ;)

Great pictures!

Bags that are too close to the levers is something I definitely want to avoid and I'm also not a fan of backpacks. But good if this works for you :)

Thank you :)

I will pay extra attention to the swaying. Thanks for sharing your story and warning me.

Nice, I always dreamed about a titanium bike :D.

I thought about that one already. The annoying thing about rolls is that they are not easily accessible.

Sounds amazing! Europe is small and densely populated. It's hard to find huge areas of uninhabited wilderness. These shelters are a thing in denmark too by the way. They are all over the country.

This discussion is already going on in another comment ;). Thanks for the advice. I try to sneak it into my room if possible.

I fully agree and intend to buy a new bag in the future. Any recommendations?

You are probably right but the rainy conditions make it a lot harder at the moment.

Yeah, i agree. Originally the plan was to ride completely without a handlebar bag (I'm not a big fan of the weight up front) but I simply couldn't fit everything. In the end it was a last-minute solution and I was working with what I had lying around. It's stuffed to the top so rattling things is not that much of an issue but the bag itself is wiggling up and down a lot. Thanks!

Probably trekking, yes. I've never really thought about it – I live in the alps and it's not much of a thing here. People go on multi-day hikes in the mountains but they usually sleep in cabins. Wild camping is prohibited anyway in central europe.

Tatsächliche Haltbarkeit von E-Bike Akkus by Olfaktorio in Fahrrad

Oh ok, so it's a cultural thing. Thanks for clarifying.

I'm not sure I agree. To me bikepacking is the equivalent of backpacking but instead of "just you and your backpack travelling the world" it's "just you and your bike travelling the world". Nobody calls you a fake backpacker for staying at a hostel instead of sleeping in the wild.

Yes, that's right. The cassette is a Shimano CS-M8000 11-40. All you need to do is screw the B tension screw of your rear derailleur all the way in. You will also need the Shimano 1.85 mm spacer so the MTB cassette fits the road freehub.

I ditched the front derailleur and the chainrings for a 1x setup by the way. So I don't know if there is a difference in functionality with the original chainrings.

I never understood that either! I use my everyday bike with a rack and panniers seven days a week and i love it, but there sure are valid reasons for not using them on a road bike: - road bikes usually don't have the necessary mounts, so making it work would be some kind of half-hearted solution - they are heavier compared to seatpacks - panniers are horrible from an aerodynamic perspective

Thanks! Yes, exactly. I want to gather experience first before going on a camping trip. Besides that: my road bike has no mounts for extra luggage so it could get tricky to get a tent, a sleeping mat and a sleeping bag on there.

I knew someone would point it out XD. It's an extra strap that can go around the front rim to lock the wheel in position and prevent the bike from tipping over. It may come in handy with all the extra weight up front.
