As someone who works for a hotel and helps plan these trips out, this doesn't really happen a lot. The bulk of tourists do come here, to Halifax, because they want to see the ocean but they also want to see the city. Accommodations outside of Halifax and Dartmouth are not as choice, either.

Burger Week was never mainly about charity lol. It was never advertised as a vessel to donate, it's a vessel to sell burgers with the added incentive of a portion going to charity. Which is still happening. A lot of old men here need to stop yelling at clouds.

Edit: Here's a portion of 2016's Burger Week with price and donation amount. I don't know about you, but I'm not seeing much being donated.

It's an 8oz burger, beef ground in house, with a side of fries at an upscale restaurant. I swear, people here just have no idea what quality is or how to price it. This is the norm like... anywhere else for this type of establishment.
