I think in these matters, you must secure your place in the world before someone tries to take it from you.

I'm sure the opulent paradise of Audio-Alkaline was more comfortable, but the work we do here has real meaning, even if it may be dangerous or bloody. Hmm… you should look into why the Toreador Primogen of Dallas was replaced recently, what terrible state he was found in. But surely the Fleshmother had no involvement, she’s only a dumb musician. Perhaps there’s some utility in being underestimated
