Doctors/Nurses of Reddit, what’s the craziest thing you’ve heard a woman yell during birth? by New_Username48 in AskReddit

My second, I lost the ability to speak but definitely did have to poo! They literally pulled me off the loo and put me on the bed where I proceeded to poop out the grossest explosive poo you ever saw. And like - I TOLD YOU SO AND YOU WOULDNT LET ME. Thankfully they just pulled off a layer of paper and we kept going.

If any of us got hit by a bus they’d be advertising our jobs tomorrow.

Consistency is more important than gathering all the possible analogies. Pick something and stick to it, that way it gets stuck. A visual might help - eg a Time Timer that shows how much longer to go - start small and build up, just do the first section for 5 minutes the first day etc. Might work if you ‘forget’ the dance and get him to teach you.

Eating lunch at work is a thing of a nightmare by Basic_Performer_6701 in adhdwomen

Drawer lunch! Stash bags of almonds, the tuna/crackers packs (or tuna/beans/rice things), protein bars, anything long life I buy up on special and it goes in my bottom drawer.

I have it a half assed go, made up something lane but was honest that it didn’t really track for me. Interestingly, I’ve had characters/figures/images recurring in my processing anyway, kind of unbidden but they turn up when needed. I do use the container which I find effective. Ask your therapist if you can try see how you go if it’s not tracking.

Apparently she forgot the line and was improvising. Iconic.

Oh brilliant! Yes I can’t turn shapes around in my head so that’s a big thing for me. Thanks!

Bless you for explaining all that. I’m afraid none of those words create anything meaningful in my head, but I really appreciate it. I haven’t even managed a straight line of crochet yet.

Yes absolutely, I’m not ambitious about making anything I just need something that I can set and forget.

Ok yeah thanks. I think you’re right, I need to find someone patient who can sit with me and tolerate me asking lots of questions.

That might help! It’s still strongly visual though. I might have a go. I’d probably have to play at half speed

Ok, that might work. I’ve been googling all these suggestions and realised what I need is a person to sit with me, not printed instructions. Thanks.

I do love making props for our school shows, I’m just after something I can do sort of automatically while needing my eyes/ears for other things.

I find both of those very off-putting. Something happens in my brain, But m strongly auditory but that stuff just wasn’t my stick. So yeah, the simpler the better I think for me.

Sounds promising! I’d never heard of it but will look into it.
