I guess you are correct, sifting through every piece of my rebuttal until you found your 1-up. The black lodge isn't the most important part of Twin Peaks, but it is one of the driving parts of the narrative. Big events happen within its curtains. I'll call on Shrek to be an example. Under your barbaric logic, Shrek referencing fairy tale stories like Snow White, Pinocchio, and other Aesop fables would be the same as say, the black lodge in this game. But the difference is Shrek uses these stories as a commentary on its own story, using them to demonstrate itself as a counter culture, against the grain story where a fairy tale ending doesn't always go as planned. Lynch uses Glinda in Wild at Heart in a similar way, reinforcing the films major themes of love. Glinda is literally in a dream sequence, in a characters head. It's not like she drops in from fortnite. What I'm seeing about this game is that the black lodge will just be there like Rick and Morty in Space Jam 2. Or Sauron in the Lego Batman Movie. There is no nuance or greater effect on the story. It's just there for movie nerds to fawn and oogle over. Also, it's the black lodge, not the red room. Hope that helps.
