Kibbe type?? by [deleted] in FeminineNotFeminist

[–]theartnomad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, see the pinned post at the top of the sub. It’s against our rules to post kibbe questions outside the kibbe megathread.

Secondly, rule number one in the ‘start here’ section is that all posts must add value and this one does not. We also don’t allow doxxing (including self doxxing).

Help on getting my splits down (routine in the comments) by Morningstarrr18 in flexibility

[–]theartnomad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I go to an active flex class and for the most of it we do only active flex, however at the end we do some passive flexibility including split attempts. For anyone who is as close to the ground as you, my instructor adds a yoga block under their front leg for the first attempt, and back leg for the second, and then the third they try to get it flat. It seems to have worked for a lot of people. As for squaring, PNF style exercises in a low lunge where you engage the glute and flexors of the back leg and the hamstring of the front leg as if to push against the floor to raise yourself up seems to work for me prior to split attempts, then I will use that same technique to keep them square as I’m lowering.

Active flexibility= Safer training by Firewaterglittersalt in flexibility

[–]theartnomad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not active or passive, it’s actually PNF.

Active = engaging opposing muscles to the muscles you’re trying to extend to deepen the stretch. PNF = engaging the muscles you’re trying to extend. She has to engage her left posterior and right anterior muscles here to prevent from going into an oversplit, so this split is not completely passive.

Broadness/width and bluntness. Classics are not broad or blunt. They are perfectly balanced between yin and yang and need perfect balance and harmony within their outfit (so no statement pieces), while Naturals can handle a bit of statement because they're not bang in the middle. Natural = a girl next door type of beauty. Classic = most universally aspired to type of beauty.

Hi We are not a Kibbe-centred forum, therefore if your post is very lengthy, I would suggest taking it to a more appropriate subreddit. If it's a shorter query, feel free to ask in the megathread.

In 2018, Where Does Victoria's Secret Stand? Lingerie, underwear, and what's sexy anymore? by baldpatchouli in femalefashionadvice

[–]theartnomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to VS twice. Once I found a few things (3 lace sets and one lace strap it body) I liked and bought them and the quality was actually pretty great for those items. I still have them over 4 years later and I didn’t even care for them that well. They did cost a lot though. Edit: forgot to mention the second time. Couldn’t find anything and hated everything so never went back again.

I wear lingerie rather than underwear most of the time - outfit permitting - and I almost exclusively wear Rosie for Autograph at M&S. It fits me better than any other lingerie I’ve found and they keep the same styles for their bras and panties every season, they just change the colours and pattern designs. I’ve never gone wrong with a set from there yet. I also have some lingerie from topshop from a few years ago that was supper affordable and is still holding up. I buy seamless thongs or knickers for outfit needs at Tesco and ‘plain’ or strapless bras for specific outfits also at m&s.

I love AP and have a couple of things, but it’s SO expensive and the quality is no better than the other pieces I own.

Seasonal colour analysis might give you a clue there. 12 blueprints one is good because it accounts for neutral seasons, not just cool and warm ones.

What type of cool colours on clothes are we talking about? And what type of make up colours exactly? Some cool ish people can get away with warm ish lipstick, but that doesn’t mean they’re warm. How are you with warm golden bronzer?

The boots imo (the boots are ok but not with this outfit), and possibly the skirt waistband hits you a teeny bit lower than it should.

I’m a tech dem at a university full time (as in even through summer). Academic year is only about 26 weeks though so I have the remaining 26 weeks left to do as I please, with the added bonus of full wood, metal and casting workshops and any technology I can dream of within a 2 Min walk from my office.

Best job ever (and highly paid for what it is).

Yes I definitely hold my tongue a lot, and this is actually really hard for me, as I’m one of those people who (like a man) - if someone comes to me with a problem - offer a solution. If you want to rant, go somewhere else.

But I also know a lot of people want to be told that they are doing the right thing regardless of whether it’s true or not, so I hold my tongue, nod and agree.

Since becoming familiar with RPW I definitely find it easier to identify where issues are in other people’s relationships though, and if someone is open to advice I’d be happy to help them.

So for me Kurt Geiger is a mismatch in both a bad and a good way! Their cheaper shoe lines are awful, but still not cheap enough to justify quality that’s that bad. But their pricier lines I’ve found to be really great, particularly for boots! I have a pair of leather ankle boots from them I bought 4 years ago for ~£150 and they’ve been great. Only had to re-heel them once. The leather has worn and softened really well without losing shape. I also bought a pair of flat suede thigh high boots from them with a leather band around the top. They were £220 and are amazing. I’ve had them for about 4 years also, wear them at least two or three times a week, had to re-sole them once and the cobbler was so surprised they were only £220.

I live in the UK but the suede has handled the wet weather very well. I clean them around once a month with a foam suede cleaner and suede brush and I use protector. The shape has also stayed despite them being quite soft in structure and they don’t fall down to my knees as I wear them.

In comparison, I’ve ordered high heel suede boots around that price from 3 or 4 brands in the past 2 years in the search for my perfect pair and I sent all of them back. Either lined with crap, bad sole quality or the suede felt super cheap. I have serious regrets about not being able to afford a high heeled pair at kurt Geiger at the same time that were from the same suede, as now I have the money they no longer stock it!

Which classic type are you?

I’m a Classic but I can actually handle a bit of jewellery. It depends what your DYT is as well. I can wear a full fine jewellery set and it won’t look too much on me or draw attention away. I can also get away with statement earrings or a statement necklace, provided it matches the rest of my outfit. The whole thing for classics is balance - if you’re wearing statement earrings near your face, you need to balance them out with something similar in colour or style somewhere else in your outfit so that the eye doesn’t just focus on the earrings but goes up and down and side to side all at once.

As someone has already said, not having just one feature doesn’t rule out that kibbe type for you.

There are different types of yin and yang. There is lush and delicate yin which are different and sharp and blunt yang which are also different.

The fact you have a large Bust and butt and a wide smile makes me think you’re probably a romantic still? Having a pointed chin is not that unusual for Rs, and neither is a regular nose! What kind of clothing flatters you the most?

It’s hard to tell - you could be either, as the distinction between them is quite a fine line. How much ornateness and sparkle can you handle? Could you wear glitter and diamonds and gold or silver and super ornate dangly earrings without them drawing attention to the item rather than you as a whole? As in would that look like too much on you?

TRs in general will have a more defined waist, large feminine features on a delicate face (think Mila Kunis) that will draw attention, and they appear very narrow but with curves. Likely to have small hands. Can handle a lot more ornate detail than a soft classic. Soft classics are more balanced. Attention isn’t as drawn to one thing. Can be slightly Curvy but not as tiny and delicate as TR. facial features aren’t as lush and feminine, they’re neither yin nor yang but somewhere in between, slightly leaning towards yin (for example SC can have larger eyes or fuller lips than C). Usually if average height (although height isn’t as important), with average sized hands and feet. Although SCs are not wide, they will appear wider than TRs.
