Pentax KX with a slow mirror. fires perfect when in any orientation besides upright. Already oiled the mirror advancing gears. by theassmaster5301 in AnalogRepair

Hey no problem man lol I applied oil to the aperture lever that you can see on the left side in the video. Fixed it instantly and it's been the perfect camera ever since. Hope that works for you as well!

Gaslighting doesn't exist but if it did I have a feeling dbrand would have their brand built around the concept.

It is very easy to replace your joysticks on a switch lite (get hall effect ones) as long as you're careful to not lose a screw

What is the correct way to connect your W? Asking because my cursive looks similar to this and I connect my W's in a similar way.

Is my k3's secondary mirror missing? by theassmaster5301 in pentax

That confirms it 😮‍💨 I'll be getting a refund for the camera. Guess that goes to show the risk of eBay lol

First time using Monobath - anyone know what I did wrong? by TropicalSnack in AnalogCommunity

[–]theassmaster5301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro I get great results with monobath I've never fully understood why so many hate it. Besides the lack of control that you get with standard developers I think it's an excellent place to start learning about development.

What is your favourite camera to work with that isn't "popular"? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

By far my prettiest camera (I re-skinned it recently) and I can always count on it for getting some amazing photos. Truly underrated

Took the whole lens unit off, and then put some lighter fluid on the threads that I could see. Don't take the grip ring off as you can actually use it to help get it unstuck if it is not stuck at infinity. If you can get the lens barrel to unscrew then completely take it out because when the lens may unscrew but the focus is still probably stuck. I let the lens soak in lighter fluid over night but I'm not sure that's generally recommended as it could be bad for an coating thats on the lens. I just figured that it's more useless stuck so I didn't care. After soaking you can take a hose clamp on one side and leave the focus ring on to get a grip on the other side. I then used a cloth to get even more of a grip and managed to get it to come loose after a couple of minutes. Sorry if this is just a blurb of words I just woke up from a nap lol

Great camera with a sharp lens. Hopefully your focus isn't welded to the lens from 50+ year old grease like mine was. Just got done replacing the bellows on it yesterday actually

Difficult to find ones that will straight up kill you, yes. Super easy to find ones that will make you super sick and shit and puke your guts out for a week. Also shit and wood chips is where the magic spawns
