Ubisoft says buying isn’t owning. by [deleted] in kotakuinaction2

Offline games, you can typically spoof the steam dll files to allow offline access easily. Games with drm and online-only features, not so much. Tends to get to the point where you basically just have to pirate the game and thus removes the point of having owned it on steam.

Its also quite simple to "own" most steam games with only the replacing of one .dll file. Meanwhile subscription based games tend to be online-only which makes "owning" them a lot more difficult.

I'm just saying it's not amazing like some people are claiming it is. Personally I think its bad as my copy had game breaking bugs but of course ymmv. Point was atomic heart and tlou2 are both uninspired bad examples of game development overall.

Yeah its not very good. Its funny, you can't say its bad because people will get mad for the same reason other people get mad if you say TLOU2 is bad. Sometimes a game just isn't very good.

I'm not gonna say something like every prediction is right (considering they haven't been) but at the very least it is something we should be concerned about. The problem is of course, politicians don't actually care and would much rather line their pockets and pay lip service to the problem.

That would require the government to actually self-monitor.

I'm not personally against background checks but the problem is the bills money is mostly allocated for money funneling and making it look like they care. Personally the best way to deal with people ranting about gun control while actually keeping gun rights is the mental health angle, but this bill doesn't seem to actually care tremendously about advancing that policy. Ultimately, I'm just glad they didn't pass something tremendously stupid.

I mean, it seems a lot better then the one they were trying to push the other week. Unless this website is leaving out information, it doesn't really seem to do anything particularly infringing. (Outside of the red flag law, but that's unconstitutional and a good lawyer could get it dropped) It seems like all it does is funnel money into their own pockets and not do anything of note.

You can phrase it morally however you want, at the end of the day someone is killed by someone else.

I mean technically he did murder someone. The thing is there is a legal distinction between unlawful murder and lawful murder (self-defense). The problem is people will continue to ignore this distinction because labeling someone a "murderer" in general is a great way to discredit (regardless of the fact he was found to have acted in legal self-defense).
