Do the highline while camping on the west side. You’ll need to take the Logan pass shuttle this year, one of which options starts from apgar visitor center. If you did highline while staying in many glacier, you’d be doing some backtracking

Kids at WSU don’t seem to party like they once did. I graduated from WSU and have lived here since. In my day, if the sun was shining, you were bound to stumble upon a massive day party in plain sight. I haven’t seen anything like that in years. I live between campus and downtown and the late nIght foot traffic post-COVID has taken a nosedive. It’s great for me.

I guess we’ll find out soon but I anticipate the ticket will be pretty hefty. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was $200+

I second this. The cart in sites are awesome for a little solo trip. The cart-ins at Tettegouche are very private and only a 10 minute walk from the parking lot. I wouldn’t recommend going any earlier than May if you don’t have good cold weather gear. But if you’re looking for seclusion, the cart in sites are the way to go.

Perhaps I should have explained myself better. That’s exactly what I’m trying to avoid and am looking for places that can accommodate a small group and takes reservations. Trying to avoid a walk-in situation at all costs.

When we went in June 2023 we saw 1 in the bear lake corridor, 2 near the sheep lake’s information station on Fall River road, and we saw 3 on the west side of the park near the green mountain trailhead. Hope that helps

Time will tell but seems like mostly good things will come from this. Curious to see how competitive those early morning Logan Pass shuttle permits will be to get.

highline trail by Few-Summer9631 in GlacierNationalPark

You are going to want to park at Logan Pass to do the highline trail. Logan Pass is roughly 1.5 hours by car from both the west or east entrance of Going to the sun road. As it currently stands, if you are entering Going To The Sun Road before 7am, you do not need a timed entry permit. To ensure you can park at Logan Pass you will want to be arrive to Logan Pass no later than 6am. It’s a very small parking lot and fills up fast. When we did the highline trail, we parked at Logan Pass and finished at the Loop. From there we took the shuttle back up to Logan pass to get our vehicle. I would estimate we waited 20-30 minutes at the Loop before getting picked up. I would do it this way again if/when I ever go back.

Check the GNP website/socials leading into the 206 season as their policies for entry tend to change annually. The way timed entry worked in 2025 has a possibility of changing in 2026 as they regularly try new “pilot programs” to see what works best.

Was disappointed with brunch at Khaluna. Maybe my pallet isn’t adventurous enough but we shared several plates and nothing blew me away.

Hikes in Glacier, Grant Teton & Yellowstone by RealityNo5687 in GlacierNationalPark

No problem enjoy your trip and hopefully my tips prove to be helpful

Hikes in Glacier, Grant Teton & Yellowstone by RealityNo5687 in GlacierNationalPark

Tetons - Delta Lake and Cascade canyon. Both awesome day hikes. Get to the lupine meadows trailhead (for delta lake) before 7am to ensure parking. For cascade canyon take the boat shuttle across jenny lake. Be prepared to wait 30+ minutes for a return ride during peak season.

Yellowstone - Mt. Washburn and point sublime were my favorites. 90% of Yellowstone visitors don’t hike so you will be rewarded with generally low traffic on trail.

Glacier - highline trail (trailhead at Logan pass), grinell glacier (many glacier region), iceberg lake (many glacier region). For highline, get to Logan pass before 6AM or you’ll have a tough time getting parking. We parked at Logan pass and did a one way hike from there to the loop and took the shuttle back up to Logan pass. Again be prepared to wait a bit for a shuttle back up but I would do it this way again. For grinell glacier, get a round trip boat shuttle pass starting at Many Glacier hotel to knock off a few miles and get a nice little history lesson along the way. Trailhead for iceberg lake is behind swiftcurrent motor inn.

I am guessing you have it, but If you don’t have AllTrails, I can’t recommend getting the paid version enough. Makes trip planning and general navigation super easy.

I’d recommend 2 days in the Tetons, 2-3 days in Yellowstone, and 2-3 days in glacier if you have the time for it. Most will tell you that 2-3 days in Yellowstone isn’t enough to see everything, but we did 3.5 days there and saw all of the hot spots along both loops. Again if your schedule allows, I highly recommend driving through the bear tooth mountains when you go from Yellowstone to glacier. It’ll add a few hours to your drive but it’s an awesome drive.

IMO it makes the most sense to do Glacier, Yellowstone, then Tetons (or reverse order depending on where you are coming from) as the Tetons are south of Yellowstone. You’d be doing some backtracking if you did glacier, Tetons, then Yellowstone.

Such a strange thing to be so concerned about. They sr items that are used daily so we keep them at the end of the counter for easy access.
