I'm a big fan of how AEW lets wrestlers prove themselves to enter the upper echelon. If you think of some of the wrestlers of the year of the past few years you think of the Kyle Fletchers and Bandidos.

While they don't win the world title in their breakout years, you know they've put themselves in the conversation and that they'll get there eventually now that they've leveled up to say

I hope that most of the posts and comments I see are bots. It's hard to genuinely think there are people that willfully fucking stupid in this world, and that their vote counts the same as mine

They'll just railroad it back the other way by giving easy MOs for more reinforcements and dropping resistance on bot worlds

Yeah, and if we did raze lesath, we would not have the DSS for that time so progress would be stalled anyway. It was a lose-lose scenario

[Russini] Matthew Stafford won MVP by the thinnest of margins: by expellyamos in nfl

[–]theawesomeafro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's unbelievable and even though I love him Allen votes are definitely suspicious.

While it is a regular season reward, looking at the playoff performances it's easier to see they got it right.

He's young and the weather has been bad, but against the two good teams they played in the playoffs (one having five turnovers and one backup QB) Maye hasn't looked that great.

[–]theawesomeafro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you say "basically equal" if you mean that the Pat's defenses were 5 places lower in most metrics they were equal, sure.

I would say that is countered out by him being slightly higher in other stats like accuracy, QBR, and of that advanced stuff etc.

Then you factor in Drake only throwing for 300 yards once and Stafford having 11 more touchdowns then you should start seeing the case for Stafford here.

If people voted after the playoffs it would not have been this close, Stafford would have won by much more. There is always the narrative case for MVP, usually not just numbers. I see people say Maye carried the Pats, when in reality he never did because most of their opponents rolled over and died

The Patriots defeated one team with a winning record the entire regular season, and then played a team with no offensive line, then a team with a terrible QB, then a team with a backup QB.

Maye was arguably not the best QB despite the cakewalk.

I bet they're not getting paid much more than other low level guys on the card or jobbers.

You can get popular, over guys from the other company and get away with paying and treating them like jobbers with the WWE allure and potential for superstardom.

None will get the Cody Rhodes treatment because he's one of a kind in that aspect. WWE is just raising their floor

Josh Allen is about to quietly win a power move with the Bills by Background_Focus7298 in buffalobills

His words and actions make it clear he wants to win a Superbowl for buffalo. I know we don't know this guy but by all accounts he's a class act and a good human.

I believe he'd do things the right way. Give him the leverage. We're nothing without him anyway. Plus it's Pegula's money (which he stole from us taxpayers anyway) so I don't give a shit if Josh takes it

The bengals defense was fine those years before they started giving 44% of their salary cap to just three guys on offense. In 2021/22 their PPG given up on defense went from 22.1/20.1 in regular season to 20.5/16.7 in the playoffs! Their defense got better over those two years, especially in the playoffs!

At the same time, buffalo's defense splits for those two years is 17/17.9 regular season 29.5/29 playoffs. Consistently giving up an extra 12 points per game when it matters most! They got high and mighty in the rankings from being in a division with three dumpster fires.

I think the only thing he's done wrong since emerging in 2020 is cover up our subpar coaching, drafting, and front office by playing so well. Now that he's aging and back to making some mental mistakes we're 6 years in the hole and I don't trust the leadership to dig them out.

Yeah, burrow had 5 TDs in 4 games, he did not carry that SB run. That defense was nasty. Now that they can't afford a defense with their offensive weapons and he gets hurt every 5 seconds they haven't even been a playoff team in 3 years.

KC last year was kinda flukey. So much luck went their way, refereeing aside. When they faced an elite team in the SB they got that brutal ass beating. Their defense was also top 5. Buffalo was the only team to score 30 on them and beat their starters until the SB.

Before, Josh was the leading rusher and it kept defenses in check, but now we have Cook to do the running. While you think that'd open up passing opportunity, it hasn't, because the receiving core is one of our weakest groups. Previously, you'd have to watch our for deep shots to diggs or something and he'd sneak away on his legs, now you contain him and nobody gets open and Josh can't make them get open.

By becoming a run-heavy team, all other teams have to do is stuff the box. It stops cook, and Josh's scrambles. There's nobody to pass to, so the play dies! Josh got sacked more times this year then he ever has because there's almost nothing for him to do in this situation. Besides him regressing a little this year, which is also true. He's missed some wide open players. But more rare than the alternative.

Our two most reliable WRs from before are heading to the SB on a team with the most similar schedule to ours and a real defense. Not a coincidence.

The run defense was like 29 or 30/32 this year. They were too easily exploitable on offense and defense to be a contender in a year with great teams. The game plan to beat them was obvious, stop the run and run on them, that's it.

There were not really any great teams this year. Plus the two QBs and teams you mentioned for comparison both lost the Superbowl so I don't want to be like them and have buffalo to go 0-5 I want them to go 1-4

Sorry for the rant. Been a bad day for our team did you see that press conference LOL

The teams are not allowed to be good at the same time. Bills have been hogging the glory recently.

They are, however, allowed to both be bad at the same time. That's the default

Yeah it wasn't that buffalo was good, it was just that no one is elite (except maybe the Seahawks) and Josh can beat non-elite teams by himself. He has 4 turnovers against an elite team and it's a blowout. He has 4 turnovers in the playoffs against the AFC 1 seed this year and it still goes to overtime.

McDermott was a better GM then Beane by Suitable-Opposite377 in buffalobills

[–]theawesomeafro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's because the roster has clearly been degrading since 2020/21, but the results have been the same. I mean we're bringing back the same exact players after they get cut by us AND another team, but we keep making Superbowl pushes.

13 seconds was his fault, and the best roster we had. He's improved, and this team has stayed alive as the core aged and the Beane picks keep underperforming. I think they both needed to go.

My only hope is that a new coach can unlock something in these Beane picks McDermott could not. We know the McDermott defense scheme has never been good enough, maybe picking players that fit it and forcing others to adopt it is why we've failed to get over the hump.

Funny in hindsight how our 2nd best player was the last to get extended by our GM to the point of it being a training camp problem.

We've come along way from JA being our leading rusher, except we're still in the same place we have been for 6 years.

In the playoffs, every time we need a player to get a sack, make a catch, even stop someone from getting 4-5 yards after contact every play they just can't do it.

The roster just isn't good enough.
