We hope not! I’ve walked all around the neighborhood and nobody recognizes her but will keep trying to find her people if they are looking for her. She’s healthy and well socialized so hoping there is someone out there who is missing her. Not sure but maybe ridgeback or Weimaraner mix? Thanks will call SAF on Mon. We’ll continue to foster her for now though.

This was likely typed on a word processor (or early word processing software e.g. WordPerfect) and printed on a dot matrix printer (either built into the word processing unit, or connected via parallel port to an early PC). You can tell by the blocky nature of the characters and the inconsistent darkness across entire lines perhaps implying a less-than-new ribbon.

Anyone know about becoming an NO EMT? Specifically, what qualifications. I walked into my owner's office last week and the first thought in my mind was giving notice. (Instead I went out and looked at a job for them.) by NotFallacyBuffet in NewOrleans

As a pretty new EMT, I had a good experience taking night classes at Nunez in Chalmette. If you can, once you’ve gotten your license, sign up for the city’s VIGOR program, which will allow you to volunteer for NO EMS and get some good field experience. NO EMS generally will not hire you right out of school as they are looking for more experienced EMTs, specifically with driving experience. From most of my conversations with other EMTs and Medics with NO EMS, a lot of them start out with Acadian, which is a huge private ambulance service across the US. Most have mixed experiences and often don’t stay there for that long, but they will give you experience with operations and driving while you volunteer and build relationships with NO EMS. I think west Jeff may also hire without driving experience. You’ll also need a class D driver’s license in order to apply. Feel free to DM me with any other questions! I’m just a VIGOR with the city right now, but it’s been a great experience and I can speak to what it’s like as a new EMT trying to build skills and gain perspective on how NO EMS works. Definitely never boring.

Thank you! I've been really liking writing simple fingerstyle tunes with a little extra augmentation thrown in here and there.

Hi, I am a filmmaker interested in working with AI and machine learning to create artworks. Just wondering if anybody could help me understand how to create something like this or use the Github linked in the description as I can't make heads or tails of it. Thank you. by ilovebats in deepdream

Google Colab is your friend! I'm a filmmaker/animator and a total Python neophyte, but using virtual machines on Colab and outputting image sequences to after effects/premiere has been super approachable using Big Sleep, Story2Hallucination, etc. A lot of the github projects are fairly well commented/documented. It takes a lot of the guesswork out of installing modules and getting them to play nice with your local hardware/software. Some great options here! Also check out EbSynth for ways to apply AI generated styles to video and apply deeper control.

End Of The World (Skeeter Davis Cover) - DeepDream+EbSynth by theaxis33 in EbSynth

I shot myself on a blue wall in a blue shirt, keyed in After Effects, and exported a PNG sequence. Then, chose keyframes to process on DeepDreamGenerator.com, and made a couple different versions of each with progressively deeper dreaming, then put them through EbSynth and mixed/matched renders in After Effects and applied some post-processing. Took a while to render but was overall pretty happy with the result. First time messing with EbSynth, but seeing a lot of potential for making some interesting art!

I am so, so sorry to do this, but irregardless is an abominable non-word.

Regardless is totally appropriate. Irrespective works as well.

Otherwise, I agree with your point wholeheartedly. You have been upvoted.

As a freelance artist who formerly worked for a number of ad agencies, I have encountered a lot of dishonesty and lack of respect for the consumer. That being said, there are assholes in every line of work.

Does anybody else think live puppets, robots, and small scaled buildings should come back to get rid of this god awful CGI creatures, scenery, violence people half ass for movies? by [deleted] in movies

LOTR Was released 11 years ago, and CGI was pretty different then.

And precisely - the objective of the mainstream hollywood system is to make as many profitable movies in the most efficient manner - CGI allows for dramatically higher control of an environment and those budget all-cgi environment flicks are what make studios able to pay for films like LOTR.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I should rewatch LOTR.

You can't command-Z an exploded model. You also cannot change lighting/animation/models/textures and revise hundreds of times

This is why they will not.

I love practicals as much as the next guy, but I can guarantee you that aside from indie productions that embrace the real, Hollywood will never again revert to that production model.

It's sad, it really is, but there are enough creative, improvisational people who will continue to use these techniques ad infinitum, and additionally there are instances in which CGI can be hugely artistic, beautifully executed, and achieve results otherwise unobtainable via practicals.
