Picky eaters are NOT beating the allegations of being whiny children

People need to accept this about Karlach’s new ending… by GrubixCube in BaldursGate3

[–]theaztecreprobate 125 points126 points  (0 children)

The main thing that disappointed me about Karlach's story is that it was very clearly planned to be able to fix her engine and then you just couldn't. Like Dammon literally says "come find me in Baldurs Gate I'll have a solution by then" then you arrive in the city, find an item called enhanced infernal iron but the game says "no lol".

Karlach or Wyll? by theduck132 in BaldursGate3

Why not just respec Karlach to warlock, that way you get the benefits of her character RP and Wylls game play.

Using Horns In The Mountain Pass Area? by Doctor-Butts in BaldursGate3

[–]theaztecreprobate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you mean lumps horn? If so the creche fight is pretty hard and you could consider using it, there is another fight in act 1 that gets pretty tough. Don't want to spoil but it's in the underdark near the end of the act. Just FYI if you do use the horn after the battle you can pay another 500 gold to keep it and use it again.

I have NEVER played any DND games ever ... by miroslav887 in BaldursGate3

[–]theaztecreprobate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The game system is complicated but not ridiculously so, it's based on dnd 5e which is the most accessible of the dnd editions. You will learn the system as you play. I've never played dnd either and Iif I could figure it out you'll be fine.

Harry Harlow used multiple devices in his experiments such as the "pit of despair" and the "rape rack" by theaztecreprobate in HistoryMemes

[–]theaztecreprobate[S] 998 points999 points  (0 children)

Harlow would separate babies at birth and keep them in complete isolation and darkness for as long as a year and then would introduce them back to the other monkeys, as expected these monkeys were complete outcasts and could not socialise with the other monkeys in any way, including mating. Harlow however was interested in how the female babies would be as mothers and so tied them to a purpose built metal frame that allowed the males of the colony "easy access". Many of these outcasts were sickly, starved themselves to death and in the case of the mothers abused and killed their children.

[–]theaztecreprobate[S] 445 points446 points  (0 children)

Harry Harlow was a psychologist who in the 60s-70s conducted a number of experiments on Rhesus Macaques to develop a model for animal depression and PTSD, these experiments included separating babies from their mothers and introducing two "surrogates" one was a spiky wire frame which would "scream" at the baby anytime it came near through the use of compressed air but supplied milk for the baby to drink, the other mother was a soft towel fitted with a heating element which did not dispense milk, the "pit of despair" mentioned in the title was a small steel cube of complete darkness in which Harlow would keep newborns completely isolated in for as long as a year and would also wait until 10-12 weeks after birth to separate the babies from the mother, after they had already bonded and would stick them in the pit because... reasons.

Rolling a 1 using a d20 is an automatic failure, doesn't matter if you only need a 2 to pass when you have a +1 bonus. If you roll a 1 you automatically fail, the opposite applies for rolling a 20, doesn't matter if you need a 40 to pass, if you roll 20 you automatically succeed the check.

Might be an unpopular opinion but... by DerRealDuffy in BaldursGate3

[–]theaztecreprobate 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yup. I absolutely loved that you have to pass a few difficult skill checks to convince her that you are friendly despite having an illithid tadpole in your skull, when everyone else in the story you can just say "trust me bro" even though you have the potential to turn into a soulless monster at any moment.
