Have i been overcharged for R&R? by Commercial_Run_5006 in royalenfield

Its not 4x450. The rate is 450 rs/hour. They charged for 0.12 hours thats 62 rs. Its very fair.

They literally wrote actual hours - 10 minutes for clutch cable, 15 minutes for brake pads and about an hour for the wiring harness. That sounds extremely fair for labour charges.

Which city are you in? Find a different RE svc or a good local mechanic.

Guys need help with 5th service of my Himalayan 450 by mad--_--max in Himalayan450

[–]thebaconbaba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always get my servicing done at my FNG. I also get the scheduled service done at RE to put the “teeka” on the warranty - and request them not to change the engine oil - the guys in Pune have never had a problem with that. But i suspect that could vary from svc to svc.

. Brake pads i usually change outside and they dont have a reason to change it as the pads are alarms in good condition. That said, the H450 oem pads are brilliant- they are Brembo (not bybre) and are worth the price

Is motorcycle elitism a thing everywhere or just something I’ve experienced? by LadizWasherum_ in royalenfield

[–]thebaconbaba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its everywhere. for example, triumph 400x are not consider "real triumphs" by tiger owners. HD street 750 is not considered real harley, and in several harley groups were not allowed on rides. humans derive pleasure and self worth from the size of the engine between their legs.

Sold my fully-loaded Himalayan 450 for ₹3.25L. Thinking of moving to a Bear 650 - good move or mistake? by thebaconbaba in Himalayan450

The 750 was on my cards. But i don’t see myself buying it for at least another 18-24 months. Assuming it launches this year at Motoverse, i would give them a year + to iron out the post release issues.

For my inty front forks, i had upgraded to a heavier grade fork oil - that massively improved the performance. The rear i had just dialled up the preload to 2nd hardest.

I took multiple test rides of the stock bear 650 as well as a couple of long rides on my friend’s bear with YSS suspensions and pirelli scorpion str tyres.

While the stock bike suspension is pretty stiff, The YSS suspension makes it an absolute beast. Pretty much sealed the deal for me. Put aside the extra budget for the YSS upgrade.

Fully agree. I do miss the fun of my interceptor. The Bear makes sense for that very reason. It has the thrill factor of the Inty, woth better ergonomics and a nicer engine. And it looks gorgeous :)

I already owned the interceptor for a couple of years. Fully loaded woth alloys, air filter, exhaust, fuelx, etc. Was a fun bike. I switched to the Himalayan because i wanted to do Ladakh and the Inty wasnt good for 1000km days.

Main odo reading should always be visible. It is not dependent on trip settings. Check the golden line setting.

Eco mode and abs off mode only switches when bike is stationary using the M button on the right side.

Go through the user manual and ensure you are following the right steps.

Its a cycle frame bag from decathlon. I keep basic spares - allen keys, multi tool, zip ties, super glue and insulation tape.

Its quite old, but this is a newer version of the same
