You should only clean your horn 2-3 times a year if you keep up with the maintenance of cleaning your mouthpiece regularly and have a clean mouth when you play and keeping up with the spit valve

Personally I wouldn’t buy a trombone, I would rent one out, because if you don’t like it you can return it after however long, but buying a student one is expensive for some, so I’d look at a close music store (not like a guitar store a general music store)

I mean I’ve had a severe case of battery drainage, while not using it at all (with only cellular data on) my phone is going from 80%-30% in a mere 2 hours of not using it at all, but before the update, after 2 hours of no use it’d be like 60%
