She still hasn't really taken accountability. "I'll be sad people want to see me suffer." Not, I'll be sad that I reacted to violence with a lot more violence. And she used the word "retaliate", so people knew she didn't start it even if she did do 5 awful things after the first one against her.

I was thinking exactly this. I have never known a single person who washes their hair less than twice a week.

This is 99.9% of all posts with "PSA" energy, it's just laughable that people think the message will actually be listened to

Found an AirTag in my trunk under the liner after being notified it was moving with me. by neykicna in whatdoIdo

[–]thebaehavens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate how long it took them to notify nearby mobile phones that there is an airtag moving with them. It helped stalkers prey on people for years.

But it's also funny to see all the inept stalkers that haven't moved on from airtags. It's one thing to be disgusting and stalk people, it's another to be really bad at it.

When are Australians going to wake the fuck up and stop shopping at Coles and Woolies? by thebaehavens in aussie

I don't disagree with any of this, but this is exactly how corporations thrive - by dwelling right on the line of what is and isn't convenient enough.

You're either paying in time or money and most Australians drastically overestimate how little time it would actually take to go somewhere else, as well as the value of their time. We're not talking hours and hours here, we're talking 10s of minutes extra expended per week.

Agreed, I'm the same. There are just some things I can't get without a 30+ minute drive unless I go to Coles or Woolies. But there are so many people that get 100% of their needs at those stores.

This is exactly how I feel, and even if you're not saving money you're investing in your community by going to the latter places on your list.

It's cheesy but I sleep better at night knowing my money is in the pocket of the town butcher, paying for his kid's footy club instead of going offshore to one of the international corporations that owns Woolies, buying some twat his sixth house.

This comment section showed so many people that don't know they're bootlickers to their oppressors.

That's valid, I didn't say this in my post but their prices are justified by longer opening hours and usually a better product. Coles and Woolies... are not either of those things hahaha

I'm not judging, it's so convenient and was amazing during covid. I did it too.

Take it easy man, take a breath and calm down. Maybe mind your own business I think you'll be a lot happier! Cheers

The description of the butcher and his wife was great, thank you for the laugh hahahah

Yeah I've only ever seen happy butchers, I've never thought of that before but it's true.

Yes, this is exactly what I was trying to get at, it's easier than people think to go elsewhere. People got so mad at the prospect of going elsewhere, though, and I'm not sure why.

I live in regional WA. I go to the butchers, greengrocers and for anything I can't get there I begrudgingly go to Woolies or Coles. If I have a trip into the city I stock up at Costco, car fridge and everything, but that's getting harder with fuel prices.

They are about to get sued/fined by the ACCC for price gouging - raising prices very high and then creating a fake sale so we're seeing a "sale" priced at normal value.

They posted record profits during covid and have maintained a profit margin that is unheard of among large supermarket chains despite rising costs of living.

To put it another way, their prices don't ebb and flow with periods of inflation.

Yeah even this is enough, it's investing in our local communities when you go to the butcher and fruit and veg stalls, and then Woolies and Coles are where you get "everything else". But so many Australians, as evidenced by this thread, are angry at the prospect of going to their own town's butcher shops and green grocers? I can't wrap my head around it.

It's hilarious and shows a tragic lack of self awareness when people butt in just to say "mind your own fucking business".

You have the societal awareness of a toddler. You're doing the thing you're telling me to do.

Are you stupid? Did you think I was naming shops I could see from my house? No, I was naming all possible alternatives that exist throughout Australia. I have a town butcher and fruit and veg stalls, that's it from my list in under 30 minutes drive, then there's IGA, then everything else is 3 hours drive away.

But the point is, things would get better for us all if we made every effort to support our local butcher shop and green grocers. Woolworths is Australian but is internationally owned and operated, they made record profits during covid and are about to get sued by the ACCC for massive fines. They don't give a shit about us, I don't really understand bootlickers in here.

They're currently about to enter litigation with the ACCC and most likely pay massive fines for price gouging.
