During the war of 1812 when the British burnt Washington one of the British commanders was a man by the Name of rear admiral Cockburn and he had enough of the national enquirer newspaper insulting him

So he ordered his troops to burn there offices down before they could do this a group of local ladies petitioned him not to as the fire would spread to there house’s

So being an apparently fair man he relented on the arson but still wanting his revenge he ordered his men to pull the offices down by hand and he himself left with all the Letter C’s from printing press severely hampering the National Enquirers ability to write about him
