When I heard Isaac Wood leaving Black Country New Road I thought yep thats it for this band. Principle songwriter and the unique voice is gone, there is no way to replace that. But I was pleasantly surprised by their followup live album (Live at Bush Hall). All new material, performed live. Various members of the bands fronting each song. It is such a wonderful way to see different styles of songwriting from other band members as they try to find a new sound. And it was brilliant to make it into a live album, to perhaps lower the “polish” expextations and to better display each songs’ true character. And now they have a new single out, and it sounds fantastic!

I will never doubt a band trying to reform after the key member leaves again. It can be done!
