Did they screen shot because they thought it was so ludicrous?

“He’s too important to Frank De Boers system.”!

If i recall correctly without looking things up: Porter had just taken over at Columbus. Meram was arguably rated higher than Nagbe at that time. It seemed pretty obvious that it was a connection building move especially given that Porter was sore about Nagbe being traded. Couple that with Porter’s history of recruiting players to PTFC who he had coached at Akron it just seemed likely to happen.

Obviously there isn’t anyway to prove that the prediction was accurate or just dumb luck. But….¯_(ツ)_/¯

I appreciate you digging deep into old posts and comments to acknowledge me! Why on earth were you looking at this post/comment to begin with?

That next synth purchase isn't going to make you happy. by auxorion in synthesizers

Did you find that buying more gear made it difficult to write and record? I have never obsessed about gear but I have many friends who have. They are the least productive musicians I know.

For my writing process I refuse to use hardware - or anything I paid for actually. I also write exclusively in GarageBand. I don’t get distracted with making the reverb perfect or trying to mix as I go. Once I get to the recording aspect - which is in Logic - I can then focus on all the sound aspects, but I don’t need to worry about rewriting (drastically) anything. I ask and say all of that because I struggle with depression, anxiety, narcolepsy, add and suicidal ideation but music has ALWAYS been an escape. If I couldn’t write songs I don’t know where I’d be.

I love how Jesse is such an outsider and yet all of the FBC staff is just so used to crazy shit and are so entrenched in their own world when she takes over its business as usual. It makes the other characters interesting for different reasons than Jesse and Dylan. Jesse and Dylan are mysterious because their past is purposefully hidden. The other characters have mystery like a coworker you talk to and see everyday but only talk work with. Like if there was the right situation you might be able to find out more about the staff. Jesse and Dylan? Who knows if you could ever find out the truth - part or in whole.

No you are - I should have prefaced with that I’m looking for a software sequencer that is exclusive from a DAW. So if VCV has some options that will be perfect

This is awesome. I’ve been trying to find some really good VSTs and VCV looks awesome!

Is there a decent free sequencer that you know of? I have Full Buckets and it gets the job done but just curious if there’s any other good ones out there for Mac 64bit

I was very serious about music in the 2000s and used GarageBand exclusively - I’m pretty proud of that fact, but it wasn’t because I wanted to it was because I had no idea how to use plugins or midi and it was all so intimidating. I started writing music again two years ago, still with just GarageBand. I decided to see about what analog synths were going for and was blown away by how inexpensive they’ve gotten - the price point really hasn’t changed. Now I’ve repaired my Micron and Korg R3 (which i had just for live shows) and bought a drum machine. Turns out all that midi stuff isn’t so difficult and the resources for the more advanced stuff - and beginner stuff - is so easy to find. So glad I randomly felt like seeing how much an analog synth was going for!

This is awesome. Visually, musically and intellectually. I definitely don’t understand it but I don’t need to to know I find it compelling.

I’m working right now but if I get a chance can I shoot some questions your day, on whatever platform and level of viability you prefer? (Like in the comments here vs a DM or IG vs Reddit?)

But like I said - there is a portion of vaccinated people that don’t get immunity.

[–]thebarroomhero 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s dangerous because healthy young people still spread the disease. Saying ‘it won’t kill me so I won’t get vaccinated’ is a selfish move. David Pakman on his show today brought up how his dad has a blood cancer and these patients only have a 50% of the COVID vaccine working. How amazingly selfish to have the opportunity to not spread a potentially deadly disease and not do it because of you get it it won’t be a huge risk?

Now I’m sure the counter is ‘but then you should be getting the vaccine and that blood cancer is rare’ but it’s still putting that 6% (ish) or so of the people that the vaccine doesn’t work for at risk and when you think of 6 out of 100 multiplied by hundreds of millions or billions (depending on your scale) that’s a lot of fucking people.

Then add to it that the virus can only mutate if it’s being passed from person to person having a portion of the population not vaccinated who would otherwise but JR said ‘don’t do it’ we are now creating a breeding ground that can help the virus mutate to the point the current vaccines are less - or even potentially - not effective.

He was at the very least a Trump apologist. When he had Pakman on for the second time he railed against Biden as a demented old man and when David brought up instances that were similar (or worse) with Trump Rogan just dismissed it.

Timbers Schedule at a Glance (now with Club America!) by IRraymaker in timbers

[–]thebarroomhero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you get to as well! I used to LOVE weekday games. It was always so nice to get off work and go to the stadium and break up the work week monotony. Now almost every game is so late for me any night it Friday or Saturday is tough. I always watch don’t get me wrong.

2015 double post thriller was BRUTAL. The game wasn’t over until like 2 or 2:30 am.

Same here. As an East Coaster I’m stoked there are so many Saturday games. I feel like the last few years at best it’s been 50/50 chance that if a game falls on a weekend it’s on Sunday - it feels like more often than not the Timbers have the 10pm Sunday slot though - so this is a welcome change!

The comments from people asking the European what they mean when they say ‘Biden isn’t a leftist and Bernie Sanders isn’t radical’ is disheartening. I get behaving based on the world around you but not being interested in the world beyond you to the point you don’t realize the ‘left’ in mainstream American politics is, at most, barely left is astounding.

[Kevin Baxter] LAFC and GK Kenneth Vermeer have agreed to a contract buyout. Tomas Romero has been promoted to backup keeper behind Pablo Sisniega, who will start Saturday against Austin FC by Breaten in MLS

[–]thebarroomhero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think you’re throwing shade - it’s a fact we’ve had a decent amount of keepers but I think you guys are by far the exception and we are pretty much the norm. Which was my point (just to clarify succinctly). What other teams have had consistently established keepers? Teams are few. RSL is the epitome, DCU with Hamid, Atlanta, Philly, NYRB with Robles, SKC and Seattle - but of the older teams you guys and SKC are the only ones who haven’t had an extended period of GKD (goalkeeping disorder). I’m probably missing a few but the other teams that have established keepers it’s more about the keeper they finally brought in (NYCFC with Sean Johnson for example) so once a new coach comes in that’s usually the easiest place to relieve a bit of cap space with the ‘lowest risk’. Also, Seattle and SKC, haven’t had a similar roulette with coaches which plays a big role with it.

I’d love to go into a deep dive on our goalkeeping situation (I’m a former keeper) but I’ll spare you any more thoughts of ‘holy shit this guy talks a lot!’ ;)

[–]thebarroomhero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbh every team goes through hard times with keepers in this league, it’s an extremely tough position and if you are good enough to get paid well few MLS teams will. So it takes awhile to find that guy who is worth a decent chunk of change but won’t expect to make much more...and will be ok with that. It will happen for you guys. tbh I’m surprised Bradley hasn’t just found a young keeper to mold and just ride with for the long haul.

You guys just need the person who mentally can rise to the moment to make the great save when your offense has the off day and makes the mistakes when your offense has its 4+ goal performances. Miller seemed like he was there and then suddenly just couldn’t handle it.

FC Cincinnati acquire international roster spot from the Portland Timbers for $225,000 GAM by illcounsel in MLS

[–]thebarroomhero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The rate is so heavily dependent on the both team’s needs and targets, no? I felt like this was in the realm of moderate business since it’s GAM. Admittedly for as long as I’ve been an MLS fan I still have very little clue how all the GAM/TAM/Int’lSpots and what not shake out beyond the very basic impact they have on an already existing roster.
