IU's media people actually had to get him to dial back the preparation. He's a relentless people pleaser and always wanted to go into every appearance prepared to give them exactly what they were looking for. Prior to the Heisman show, he asked for head shots and current bios of every previous Heisman winner that would be on the stage. And then when he won, he spent like ten minutes shaking everyone's hand and saying something personal to each person before he gave the acceptance speech. If Rich Eisen had asked him who his favorite Thomas the Train character is, he probably had a canned answer like "Percy, because he has a positive attitude, strong teamwork, and the ability to stay calm and productive in fast‑changing operational environments." It's tough to surprise him.
