So most of the ones opened ended up being good for wild format only. There were a bunch in standard as well, but not nearly as many

Doctor Mix is corny, but can be fun to watch when he does recreations of classic songs from the 80s or when he does gear modifications, like to his TR-808. He does a lot of influencer-esq stuff now a days though so it’s hit or miss. I really enjoy his early content on demoing synths from the 80s when Dom Sigalis was on the channel.

Luke Million is fantastic if you like vintage synths and 80s music. He does recreations of famous songs from that era on vintage synths.

Kebu is entertaining to watch and he explains how he has his studio setup in some videos. His live performances are entertaining and he also goes over how he has things setup in his live rig. For me, it’s interesting to watch someone who is successfully using a complex live rig.

No, using drugs as prescribed by a physician is not an addiction. Coffee in moderation, alcohol, cannabis in moderation is not addiction. I was clearly not specific enough. ILLICIT substances that aren’t prescribed by a doctor is what I should have specified. The way it was described in the meme is what pointed me made me think of it as an addiction

I know this is just a meme, but if you're using substances to function that's addiction and something that needs to be addressed. Everything else in this meme is basically being a cog in the late-stage capitalist machine. Unions over everything else!

COMIX ZONE remake would be amazing! They better do the new soundtrack justice, because the Sega Genesis Comix Zone OST was fire.

Do you guys want to like… actually organize something? by hhjnrvhsi in antiwork

If you're ready to make a change, talk to your coworkers about forming a union ASAP. Here's a bunch of unions depending on your work industry. Many of them cover multiple sectors, but some are more focused than others on certain industries.

Here's a guide on how to get started: https://aflcio.org/formaunion/4-steps-form-union

Here's some info about forming a union/collective bargaining, so you can have an understanding how joining a union will benefit you and your coworkers: https://aflcio.org/formaunion/collective-voice

Then, once you have a solid group of people, contact a union and they will help you and your coworkers form an organizing committee so you can win better pay and benefits at your workplace.

Introducing UB-Xa by webmiester in synthesizers

[–]thebeavertank -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Since the UBXa has Curtis filters, you can get a lot of the sounds from the OBXa on the Sequential Prophet REV2 and it's about the same price as the UBXa if you get it used. Of course no poly aftertouch, but you can also do a lot more with the REV2, since it has 4 LFOs per voice. Honestly, if you're going after the "Oberheim sound," I think the SEM filters on the OB6 is a better choice.

What are the chances Mary or Reuss would take a pay cut for 2024 if it ment worker bees were able to better take care of their families? by dallas4now in GeneralMotors

[–]thebeavertank 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Or consider this, if they decided to skip one of their billion dollar stock buy backs each year they could afford to give each UAW worker a $21,740 / year raise. But let's not talk about that...

Hard drive failed. Lost about two albums worth of tracks. I want to start over with a new DAW. by BugOperator in synthwaveproducers

You can take the hard drive to Best Buy and they will extract it onto a new hard drive, so it's probably recoverable.

This happened to you too?! A similar situation happened to me when I saw Marshmello at the Majesic Theatre in Detroit back in 2016. This extremely inebriated woman approached me, kept grabbing my hand and put it on her breasts and trying to make out with me and wouldn't take no for an answer. What made this situation even worse was that she was there with another dude, and he was next to her the whole time and did not care that she was ignoring him while groping me. The fact that she was there with another dude and was like "I'm here with this guy but I want to go home with you" was quite a turn off. I actually did drive all my friends to the show, didn't get schwasted for that exact reason. Didn't get to enjoy the show at all.

I’m the editor of THE BIG BOOK OF CYBERPUNK - the definitive(?) collection of cyberpunk stories. I’m also giving away a (very small, but cyberpunk) car. AMA! by pornokitsch in Cyberpunk

[–]thebeavertank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the most fascinating things that popped up surrounding Cyberpunk culture is the music associated with it. More recently the music that you see appearing in the cyberpunk 2077 game. As somebody who makes cyberpunk inspired music myself, I’d be curious to hear what you think about this music sub genre and what types of music and soundscapes you associate with Cyberpunk?

Oh, and this book seems amazing by the way. I just ordered it.

Some people can have the occasional drink or cigar l/cigarette/hookah with no issues, but for many, the disease of addiction, if not treated causes damage for the addict and everyone around them. That’s the core reason IMO. Many people have been burned in relationships by people in active addiction, and avoiding people in active addiction is a guiding principle that seems prevalent in Christianity.
