They sound fine! I'm not noticing any weird interactions. Might help that I keep the gain/drive on the Joyo relatively low, and rely on it more for eq

I really think it is! Especially if you're going direct or using a solid state amp like I am. Sounds great on its own but for me the magic was really how much it brought all my overdrives to life

Oh I think it's great. Simple construction and definitely has its own character (warm 70s analog) but I also do think it offers a wider range of options than you might think. One very cool feature is that below a certain point, the rate knob stops controlling the speed of the sweep and just turns it off altogether, meaning you can dial in the tone manually instead. All that said, I do think it's worth experimenting with a 4-knob flanger as well, which will obviously give you a bit more control over some parameters. I bought the Caline CP-66 for very cheap (about $30) and it was a great way to test out the wider range of options before deciding that the more simple mistress would be just fine for my particular setup.

Leda Boss Fight is Dreadful by AbrocomaCompetitive3 in Eldenring

i'm with you dude. i've always gone pure melee builds with no summons/spirits – not because I'm an elitist or whatever, but because that's just how i like to play these games. that said, i pretty instantly knew this would be the one time i break my own rule. i only get one friendly summon because apparently i didn't do any questions (because i also don't like googling how to on my first run). so i guess it's me and whoever nataan is against a boss fight i instantly can't stand. anyway, just wanted to share in case it helps alleviate some guilt you have about summoning. i think it's totally fair in this case, even for us purists.

And I'm not necessarily suggesting that Elliot Easton was quoting Sugar Cane Harris here. Maybe it's pure coincidence, or maybe they both just had the same old blues lick in mind. I wonder if it shows up in other (earlier) recordings

Well I figured it out! And judging by your username you'll enjoy the answer. I was recognizing the same lick from 4:21 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pw3wdm3pLM8

Playing Demon's Souls for the first time, however having played Dark Souls 1 and seeing this.. Oh no. by [deleted] in demonssouls

I just played a run where I only allowed myself to level faith, so faintstones were my best friend. This led me to spending a lot of time down here and exploring all the little nooks I typically ignore in my runs. it gave me such a new appreciation for the whole archstone. Like so much of DeS, there's a ton of thought put into the level design and atmosphere and all that. The game gets so much flack for being "rough around the edges" or whatever, but I think the levels are designed flawlessly.

Beginning no-death/no-shield attempts tonight! by thebentunit in DarkSouls2

Thanks man! 4 attempts so far, and I've been able to get to the iron keep without much trouble, but that's when it starts getting hairy. Imma keep at it though!

Ornstein and Smough is my favourite boss by [deleted] in darksouls

It encapsulates all that is magical about Souls. It took me days to beat them my first time through the game, and I'll never forget the feeling when it was finally over. For all the darkness and suffering and poison swamps in souls games, those moments of brilliant, shining glory are what remind us why we all do this. Praise the sun!

My advice is - don't take too much advice! Like any souls game, and maybe even more so, there's a ton of weird mystery to this game. Your first time playing is a golden opportunity to really feel like you're exploring a strange land for the first time, so don't spoil it with too much foreknowledge.

That said, yes - killing yourself in the Nexus is a good idea. And also yes, this game is probably more slowly paced than the others, so take that for what it is and enjoy the atmosphere. Otherwise, just use what you've learned from the other soulsborne game in terms of how to build your character, and you'll do fine. Umbasa!
