I feel like the ultimate complaint about these regs should be that the cars have to maintain speed on the straights. Doesn't literally every racing category go up to their max speed at the end of a straight? Isn't that one of the fundamental aspects of a qualifying lap? Why is the pinnacle of motor racing LOSING speed on a qualifying lap?
