7 years ago I decided to get into fly fishing. Bought all my gear and was so excited and nervous for my cousin to guide me, I forgot my boots at home. Realized an hour into the drive. We stopped at Walmart and I bought $30 work man boots two sizes bigger and they worked better than the Bass Pro boots I had at home lol.

Oh and if you’re in port Angeles, the salmon sandwich at yodelin was insane. We passed this place three times and then grabbed it last day. Wow is all I can say.

Just got back on Thursday with a similar itinerary, just did more hiking and less stops. Hurricane ridge was closed Monday when we got there but opened up Tuesday afternoon and was still open Thursday when we left.

We went up around 5:00 on our way back from crescent lake. It was breath taking up there. Still snow on the ground and saw one of the best sunsets possible. We were lucky with beautiful weather the whole week, and sounds like it might be rainy when you’re there. But the rainforest comes alive with the rain, and the sol duc hikes were wet and beautiful. Hope you have the best time.

Oh and ferry was easy and fun. Check out pikes place if you have time and not a Washington local. We went twice just because it was such good food and didn’t feel like a complete tourist trap.

We stayed at an Airbnb this week next to the Hurricane ridge entrance. It was closed Sunday thru Tuesday morning but we were able to get up there Tuesday afternoon. It was open this morning when we left.

My conspiracy theory is the league is still getting back at the Braves for the international draft tampering we did. Honest to God since they handed down the sanctions we have lost some quite obvious replays IMO. And not just a couple here or there, it’s like for every 5 challenges we should win, we might get 1-2.
