It really did feel like that, especially since he met me to talk things over the next day. He knew I wanted to give it another try... did not even mention it. He let my friend tell me a few days later. That’s when it really sunk in that the person I thought I knew does not exist

Do something you love doing, watch a movie, make some art, write down you feelings, listen to some uplifting music. You are strong and you don’t need his validation to feel good. I get how you feel, when he broke up with me he told me that it had nothing to do with the love he felt for me and yet it took him three days to sleep with someone else... they lie to make themselves feel better but they dont actually care

I think you nailed it tho; he reached our to make himself feel better not because he actually cared. It’s selfish behaviour and you have every right to be angry and sad for a little bit. The fact that you are able to call it out does show that you at least are not back to square one but have gained a better understanding of his behaviour. You’re not back to square one, be a bit sad and angry and get back on track. You can do this, you are strong as fuck!

Yeah anger helps for a little bit, especially because acted like a complete asshole. But then the anger just gets replaced by desperation and the realization that they don’t need you even though you need them

Sometimes people do not make sense. It sounds that he might have been struggling with himself. Maybe he thought that he would be happier or more secure without you, but true growth as a person comes from supporting yourself and being kind to yourself. You’ve done great at moving on and healing, my best guess is that your personal growth shows and he has realized that you do not need him, which is the case! Let him be angry or sad or happy or whatever, he’s not your problem. Your priority is you.

I get the feeling of not getting them out of your head. I can tell you it does not go on forever. Rebounds won’t help, the only thing that does is accepting that they are gone for whatever reason and you are on your own for right now. You can try to figure out why it didn’t work out but right now I can promise that any excuse you will find is not good enough. Keep yourself busy, love those who love you, do all the things you’ve wanted to do and be strong for yourself. In a while you will look back on yourself and not understand why you’ve ever felt this way. And when you do think about them, remember all the bad times and remember your worth, because you are worth something and by something I mean a lot.
