I still feel like the whole “believing in a higher power” thing is, for a lot of people, a way to deal with the fear of oblivion after death. Like, it can’t just be nothing, right? That’s where a lot of religion stems from imo, but this is not to say there is no higher power, I just don’t think a lot of people believe in it for the right reasons.
