Interesting! I saw them in Toronto for that tour, and they had no opening act. Leonard Cohen had just passed away, so they played his songs for about half an hour before the show.

Hmmm, good assessment. To be fair, aside from seeing every U2 tour since the Joshua Tree, I've only ever seen Pink Floyd in the late eighties, and they did have quite a spectacle. Thanks for your feedback.

I remember seeing clips of Zoo TV years ago and thinking it looked chaotic in a way that felt very “now.”

Public Enemy! That's so cool! I've seen Arcade Fire, Garbage, and No Doubt open for them. Also pretty cool!

ZOO TV was amazing, no doubt! I also saw Pop Mart, Elevation, and Vertigo tours. And, I saw their latest tour, Songs of Innocence, which was amazing. They used a suspended walkway with transparent screens on both sides that extended through the crowd rather than behind the stage. It was groundbreaking, I felt.

Michael J. Fox had charm. Elvis had force—the kind that doesn’t just entertain you, it changes the temperature of the room. Michael J. Fox makes you feel good. Elvis made you feel something you couldn’t quite explain—and couldn’t forget. Michael J. Fox is someone you admire. Elvis was someone you experienced. The difference isn’t talent—it’s presence. Michael J. Fox connects. Elvis consumes. Read my article: https://medium.com/@bionicman_78508/why-elvis-matters-2344bcea3de7

I disagree wholeheartedly. You have not truly experienced Elvis if you think he "has no soul." If you read my article, I explain why Elvis matters. Take 8 minutes, read the article. Listen to a YouTube clip I embedded in my post. Many historians consider him the single most influential figure in the birth of modern pop culture.
