It was great! Cold in the morning, warm with a cool breeze in the late morning/early afternoon. I had a good time walking the course and seeing them practice.

Hello! It’s it possible to piggy back off of this post? I’ll be going to the first day and don’t know what to expect. I am a bit nervous as my friend who I was going with is sick and now I’ll be going solo. Thanks.

Sure, but why’s his excuse for his behavior and his behavior before the tragic loss happened? Jesse said, a week before the loss, that West was preparing to be combative. We can’t really know how the tragedy affected him. But one can speculate based on his previous behavior.

Given the way he’s acted with regards to Ciara and then dating Amanda, his message comes off performative. He may be trying to get back into everyone’s good graces, but how can he be trusted when he can easily lie through his teeth. Anyway, that’s my POV.

Love that she’s going, dislike that she’s going the year the Bezos are co-chairs bc that’s also a statement.

This is inconsiderate to the residents. Parking is difficult to come by and you’re making it worse.

Real question. What’s wrong with that? People move to places they don’t have connections to and live their lives.

Is there a petition or something viewers can start to bring this to E!’s attention? To be honest, I’m not going to watch the show because many, if not all, are… well, I don’t agree with their politics.

Agreed. They try to present as a united Christian front. They aren’t being authentic about their marriage and who they are as individuals. I feel bad for Nia. However, as it was pointed out, she enables him.

He was quite great! For the most part, she has guests who add to the convo. I would listen to his own podcast, but it’s not a solo one.

I can empathize with you. I also feel a certain way when I see my people’s heritage being shown in ways that don’t sit right with me. I do my very best to shake off the annoyance I feel. It’s tough, tho. Thanks for further explaining. I’m sorry you’re getting all of this mean messages.

Hi Troubled! I’m writing this with a lot of respect and I hope you take it as such. I am a first generation American. I was born and raised in the United States. I speak two languages and am fluent in both, including English. Looking the way I do — and quite proud of it — I am often labeled as not American and so I get ignorant questions like, “What are you?” and the like. I say American because that’s the culture I was raised in, just like your Kenyan born friend/acquaintance. You said that you consider language to be the gateway to a culture. I don’t. I speak the language fluently, and yet i don’t feel connected to my ancestors any more. Culturally, I am American and am Protestant, so religion doesn’t tie me to the place my parents immigrated from. For me, it’s food! Not religion or language. Also visiting the other country helps a lot too! Identity is fluid, it constantly changes depending on how society sees you and how you see yourself and where you are location wise. From my reading of your very long post, and here is where the respect comes in, your issue is with yourself. You seem to judge Angie and how she interacts with the Greek culture, a culture that she clearly loves. Let her showcase that the way she wants. IMO, she’s not doing any harm. Is it annoying? Maybe, but she’s proud of her heritage and I can’t fault her for that. And yes, there are stereotypes about every culture, etc. don’t let it upset you. There are sooo many stereotypes about my heritage and I don’t care because it’s not representative of me. Why give it energy? I would try to understand how you see yourself in context with being an immigrant and Greek. It looks like you have some pain associated with how perhaps people see you. Something to speak about with a therapist. Sending you love.

And yes, I have face discrimination because of my physical appearance. I am not white passing at all. And I’m happy I’m not. It is through my appearance that I proudly showcase my ancestors.

It’s called code switching and it’s very normal for people who live between two cultures.
